This sub-genre mainly focuses on the action within the film as the name would suggest, therefore explosions, car chases or anything deemed as somewhat aggressive and violent appears in this category. They deal with somewhat realistic story lines creating a more relatable or let's say exciting atmosphere throughout. Binary oppositions are clearly evident throughout these types of films as the typical theme is the antagonist against the protagonist, along with moderate amounts of gore for a further exhilarating feel.
