mason Maynard: Harris clashes with Fox as she tries to peel away some GOP voters

Vice President Kamala Harris engaged in a heated interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, where she defended her policies and criticized former President Trump’s extreme rhetoric. The exchange, set in Pennsylvania, highlighted her efforts to attract undecided voters, including disillusioned Republicans, by emphasizing that her presidency would not be a continuation of Biden’s administration.

Harris portrayed Trump as “unstable and unhinged,” while also addressing her previous comments about not doing much differently than Biden. Although her performance aimed to showcase her assertiveness, critiques emerged regarding her immigration responses, which could alienate potential GOP supporters. Overall, her willingness to confront tough questions in a conservative media landscape may resonate with undecided voters as the election approaches.

Vance said he felt there was hypocrisy in how Democrats had never fully accepted Trump’s 2016 victory, but Republicans were asked to immediately accept Biden’s win. Ultimately, Vance told podcast host Megyn Kelly in an interview that aired the last week of November 2020 that Trump supporters would accept Biden’s win and people would move on when he was inaugurated.

Conflict in the middle east has now involved US troops and military technology ever since President Biden has directed the deployment of THAAD systems and 100 US troops to help operate the systems. This is the 1st time US troops have been deployed to Israel since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7th during. This decision is very controversial among the American public, since only 1 and 4 Americans support this decision.

America Is Sleepwalking Into an Economic Storm.

Collin, & Natalie

Barreling toward us are three epochal changes poised to reshape the U.S. economy in coming years: an aging population, the rise of artificial intelligence and the rewiring of the global economy.

There should be little surprise in this, since all these are evolving slowly in plain sight. What has not been fully understood is how these changes in combination are likely to transform the lives of working people in ways not seen since the late 1970s, when wage inequality surged and wages at the low end stagnated or even fell.

Together, if handled correctly, these challenges could remake work and deliver much higher productivity, wages and opportunities — something the computer revolution promised and never fulfilled. If we mismanage the moment, they could make good, well-paying jobs scarcer and the economy less dynamic. Our decisions over the next five to 10 years will determine which path we take.

Gun ownership

president Joe Biden and vice president Kamala Harris release a statement in March calling Congress to pass universal background checks, a national red flag law, an assault weapon ban, and a secure storage law meanwhile Trump in 2016 wanted to get rid of gun free zones on schools and military bases and also planned to outlaw bump stocks and overall Trump wants to strengthen gun laws.

Weapons ban

Kamala Harris said during the debate in September that her and Tim Walz are both gun owners and they are not going to take anyone's guns away despite the Biden Harris administration opposition to assault weapons. Trump never pursued an assault weapons ban although he criticized republicans for opposing limited gun restrictions. Trump signaled support for stricter background checks in 2019 after a mass shooting in El Paso, Texas.

Armed personnel in school

Kamala Harris spoke in 2019 to remove police officers in school which she has argued on multiple occasions the safety does not come with increased policing but however the White House announced $334M in grants for law enforcement in 2023. Trump has suggested that arming school teachers as a response to a shooting gives them extra pay as an incentive and clarified that teachers would require special training In order to be armed. He also suggested that buildings should have a single point of entry, stronger fencing, and metal detectors.
