Neusner is perhaps at his finest when, in ch. five, he examines the themes of exile and return. He offers a profound reading. The horror of exile and the hope of return have become "the generative Judaic paradigm" (p. 60). This has been accomplished by the Torah's priestly editing, which raised exile/return from "mere" event to "eternal paradigm" (p. 59). The genius of the priestly contribution to the tradition, or better, the priestly extension and application of the tradition to the chaos of exile and miracle of return, lies in its success in presenting "alienation as normative" (p. 60) and, in response, hope of return as a perpetually self-renewing need that points the community always toward its future. Exile and return thus nourish a sojourning faith. Such faith requires and inspires the manner of life (halakah) needed to reach future restoration (holiness) but cannot guarantee the community's survival in a world that, before every other true thing, is given moment by moment by God alone and yet can in any moment burn down. Though normative religious thought and practice may be more the goal than the achievement, Neusner's insightful treatment of the "death and resurrection" of the community (p. 65) though exile and return may in fact reveal the unifying heart of Judaism: "the life of the group is uncertain, subject to conditions and stipulations. Nothing is set and given; all things are a gift: land and life itself" (p. 60). Come what may, obedience is finally a dance.

The article states Nesner's point of view in Jeudaism religion. The article states that "the horror of exile and the hope of return have become "the generative Judaic paradigm". He expresses that life is uncertain, and can be subjective and how everyone can be subject to conditions and stipulations.

"The unleavened bread that Roman Catholics use in the celebration of Mass must contain some gluten, even if only a trace amount, according to a new Vatican directive. The directive, which was dated June 15 but received significant attention only after it was reported by Vatican Radio on Saturday, affirms an existing policy. But it may help to relieve some of the confusion surrounding church doctrine on gluten, a protein that occurs naturally in wheat and has become the subject of debates over nutrition and regulation. The issue is especially urgent for people with celiac disease, a gastrointestinal immune disorder that causes stomach pain, diarrhea and weight loss and that can lead to serious complications, or for those with other digestive conditions that make them vulnerable even to small amounts of gluten."

I have recently read an article about, how the communion bread, according to the church rules, that it must have a trace of gluten into it. The article states,

"The issue is especially urgent for people with celiac disease, a gastrointestinal immune disorder that causes stomach pain, diarrhea and weight loss..."
People especially the christians with celiac disease are facing conflicting ideas, on whether or not to eat the communion bread. In my opinion the church should allow to make an exception to people with celiac disease to eat gluten-free bread, in order to avoid conflicts with the people.
