Because of our unawareness, almost everything here on Earth was really affected. Hence, as one of the reasons behind this problem, we must help to lessen or mitigate the said issue by starting from ourselves and from our home. We can use renewable resources and energy for our everyday living and by avoiding to burn out fuels. Additionally, we have to plant a lot of trees to restore our forest. Another way for it to be lessen is to recycle all the plastics and if possible by avoiding to use it. In that way, we can help to lessen the climate change.

Let's reduce our consumption and trash. concentrating on the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time in nature and helping others rather than acquiring and consuming things. When that happens, we may help support in the earth's healing. Let's all recognize the value of our planet Earth by consuming less, generating fewer emissions, and being more patient with it. Start by sharing, creating, repairing, upcycling, reusing, and composting. Act daily from the idea that we are a part of nature.

It is now widely agreed that unless we make some significant, systematic changes, climate change will drastically worsen. Changing our travel habits can have a significant impact on the environment. If more people walk, we’ll have more green spaces. Trees and other plants release some carbon dioxide from the air, which is vital for the environment since it improves the quality of the air. Choosing more active ways to travel like walking has important benefits for us as individuals. It also helps to boost our mood and can even save us money. Big changes are inspired by us as individuals. And together, we can create a collective demand for a world we want to see.

Their protest serves as an initiative to spread awareness to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions to avoid catastrophic climate changes in 2025. Thus, our role who live and a cultivator of this world, our thoughts and actions are responsible to this issue. Governments provide protocols on how to keep and protect sustainable environment and with this, we have to obey their protocols. Furthermore, there are examples to help mitigate climate change. Conserve water, energy and heat. Ride your bicycle or walk to lessen gas emissions. Use your own tumblers and bags rather than to consume plastic bottles and bags. Lastly, plant more trees. Moreover, think about your actions. They really matter in the greater scheme of things.

The map's 504 extreme weather patterns and events were judged to be 71% more likely or 71% more severe as a result of human-caused climate change.
Climate change reduced the likelihood or severity of 9% of events or trends, which means that 80% of all events had some human-caused influence. Events and trends that made up the remaining 20% either had no apparent human influence or were inconclusive. 93% of the 152 extreme heat episodes that scientists evaluated were made more likely or more severe as a result of climate change. In 126 studies of rainfall or flooding, 56% found that human activity had increased the event's likelihood or severity. It's 68% for the 81 drought events that were examined. According to a research by Carbon Brief titled "Mapped: How Climate Change Affects Extreme Weather Around the World," human activity is the primary cause of all of these extreme weather events.

How do we save our failing world ?that's a big question.

Well, We are mostly to blame for this catastrophe, but we are also the only ones who can stop it.
But how ?

The climate crisis is centered on energy, and energy is essential to finding a solution.

When fossil fuels are burned to produce power and heat, they release a significant amount of greenhouse gases that cover the Earth and trap solar radiation.

Fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, and gas, account for more than 75% of all greenhouse gas emissions and almost 90% of all carbon dioxide emissions, making them by far the biggest cause of climate change in the world.

The science is very clear: emissions must be cut in half by 2030 and reach zero by 2050 in order to prevent the worst effects of climate change.

To do this, we must stop relying on fossil fuels and start putting money into reliable, clean, accessible, and affordable alternative energy sources.

The sun, wind, water, waste, and heat from the Earth are all abundant sources of renewable energy that replenish themselves naturally and emit little to no greenhouse gases or other air pollutants.

With this we can lessen the emission of harmful gases and at the same time save our earth

Together, Let's power a safer future with renewable energy.

References:
https://www.un.org/en/climatechange/raising-ambition/renewable-energy
https://www.carbonbrief.org/mapped-how-climate-change-affects-extreme-weather-around-the-world/

Many nations across the globe are formulating plans for food security and many of them consider livestock production as a solution. Livestock farming can be a key to food security. However, livestock products are responsible for more greenhouse gas
emissions than most other food sources. Emissions are caused by feed production, enteric fermentation, animal waste, and land-use change. So, why should people consider a solution that would help the planet to deteriorate? This is an example of how an action could kill the Earth. As a people, we can reach food security in a way that we can save our planet as well. Eating less meat and dairy products is one of the actions we can do as global citizens to mitigate the effects of climate change. Also, low-carbon livestock production is possible. By eating less meat we can also lessen the demand for meat for this to lower its production. Vegans and vegetarian diet rates are increasing and it is a good start for us to be healthy and for our planet to be healthy as well. We should always remember that maybe these actions are small but then these micro-efforts will always have a macro-effect, let us save our home, our Earth, to be a better place to live in. It's in our hands if we act to kill or save the Earth.

The world before is green, fresh, and clean. How about today?

It's already 2022 and we are experiencing drastic catastrophes which are the effect of climate change. We humans are the main drivers of climate change. Environmental problems including more frequent and severe heat waves, glaciers melting, floods and warming oceans are primarily caused by humans.

What would happen if no action was taken?

Forests could start to die and sea levels will continue to rise if we do not take drastic action now. Increase in natural disasters such as flooding, hurricanes, and other catasrophe will continuously occur. These are the terrifying effects of climate change. However, we could take a climate action to reduce these catastrophes. If humans are the main drivers of climate change, we have the privilege to change direction towards our ultimate goal and that is to make our planet sustainable. We could start in our behavioral shifts such as reducing food wastes, saving water and reduce the amount of time using electronic appliances as this will help to reduce power consumption. Moreover, lessen the use of refrigerants such as air-conditions because when we constantly use these things it will emit harmful chemicals that can greatly affect our ozone layer. Another option is to try walking or cycling instead of riding cars. This will lessen the carbon emissions from the cars. Lastly, reforestation, let's try planting trees because the more trees, the more oxygen to breath filtering out carbon dioxide in the air. We need all hands to save our planet. We can still fix this, you can still fix this. This is a challenge!

#MakePlanetSustainable
#ClimateActionNow

Change has always been constant and will always be. But some changes are destructive and life-threatening, and here goes climate change. We always hear about climate change, but are we doing anything about it? Are we considering the future of the coming generations or just our own? So, how can we help mitigate those effects of climate change in practical ways?

Vehicle emissions are a close second when it comes to the top causes of climate change. So let's make our commute green, by riding a bike or by walking, especially when the destination is not too far. This is a great method to exercise and at the same time cut out emissions; killing two birds with one stone. Less energy being used by the power plants means a reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases, which also means slowing global warming. This implies that we should do our part to reduce the amount of energy our home uses. When we're finished using a gadget, make sure to unhook it from the wall and switch off the lights. To help save electricity, swap out light bulbs for ones that are more energy-efficient. Each year, manufacturing facilities release a lot of greenhouse gases. It is inevitable with the creation of products that we frequently use. Recycling expenditures, though, would be a cleaner choice. Recycling reduces waste and has a low environmental impact because it doesn't release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Take part in activities that advocate taking far-reaching actions to mitigate the alarming effects of climate change. If tree planting takes place in our community, your participation is important. Voting the right people into office will help pass legislation that allows us to fight against these corporations that are mainly to blame for climate change. In our contemporary society, the value of teaching others about climate change cannot be understated. We can quickly distribute our message through the use of a variety of platforms. There are always methods to inform people about what climate change is doing to our planet, whether you do it through word of mouth or social media. By educating others on the risks posed by climate change and what they can do to combat it, we can contribute to the preservation of the environment. Small acts when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world!

#ChooseEcoNotEgo

#NeverToSmallToMakeADifference

Reference:
6 Things You Can Do To Prevent Climate Change.

Climate change is the single biggest health threat facing humanity, and health professionals worldwide are already responding to the health harms caused by this unfolding crisis.

Major actions to fight climate change:

1. Reduce emissions
Use your car less, whenever possible, instead use sustainable transportation, such as bicycling, or use public transportation more often.
2. Save energy
Take a look at the labels on your appliances, and never leave them on standby.
3. Put the 3 R's of sustainability into practice
- Reduce: consume less, more efficiently.
- Reuse: take advantage of second-hand markets, to give new life to items that you don't use anymore or find something that someone else has gotten rid of that you need. You'll be saving money and reducing your consumption.
- Recycle: packaging, waste from electronics, etc.
4. What about your diet? Eat low-carbon
A low-carbon diet results in smarter consumption:
- Reduce your meat consumption (livestock is one of the biggest contaminators of the atmosphere) and increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables.
- Eat food that is local and in season: read the label and eat food that is produced in the area, avoid imports which create more emissions due to transportation. Also, eat seasonal items, to avoid less sustainable production methods.
- Avoid excessive packaging and processed foods as much as possible.
5. Act against forest loss
- As far as possible, avoid anything that may be a fire hazard.
- If you want to buy wood, choose wood with a certification or seal showing its sustainable origin.
- Plant a tree! Throughout its life, it can absorb up to a ton of CO2.
6. Make demands from the government
Demand that they take measures toward a more sustainable life, any way that you can: promote renewable energy, regulatory measures such as properly labelling products (fishing method used, labels that specify product origins, whether or not they are transgenic, etc.), promote more sustainable public transportation, promote the use of bicycles and other non-polluting transportation methods in the city, correctly manage waste through recycling/reuse, etc.

Mitigating climate change is about reducing the release of greenhouse gas emissions that are warming our planet. One of the best example on how can we reduce the release of greenhouse gas emissions in our world is the use of innovative and energy efficient renewable energy sources like solar, wind, hydro transforming electricities and energies. We should be promoting this kind of energy sources and stop using the traditional energy sources such as thermal energy conductors that causes harm to our nature and to the people of this world. We should make everyone in our world accountable for what we are facing today— the climate change. Because I believe, everyone is responsible for our Earth. Not only one, not only our world leaders, but every people on this planet. We are all living one world. Therefore, it is the responsibility of everyone to take care, to take action for mitigation, and it is also our purpose to reserve the present and the future of our world.

#ClimateMitigate

Reference:
https://www.thegef.org/what-we-do/topics/climate-change-mitigation#:~:text=Mitigation%20strategies%20include%20retrofitting%20buildings,sustainable%20uses%20of%20land%20and

For millions of years since the origins of Earth, climates have changed in periods, and each is an incredibly long yet inescapable amount of time. Then it finally arrived at the best climate our planet has ever had. However, as humans began to appear in the world and reached the modern era, which is now, this type of climate is on the verge of a sudden change that will negatively affect everything on Earth. Sadly, all of this is because of human intervention in nature. The irresponsibility and greed of humankind for natural resources What does that lead to? Mother Nature, in return, will come to bring her wrath to the world.

So what can we do? Negligence and laziness are not the answer to that.

People often think that the advancement in technology is the primary cause why there is a rapid change in Earth's temperature. Put the blame to the government yet, also ask a solution from the government. But there's one thing we frequently forgot to consider, it is to ask ourselves if we did our simpliest part to help reduce the effect of climate change. We actually think about more expensive and highly innovative strategies to cope up with these situation, yet we forgot that it always start within ourselves. People always says, " To change the world, we must change start within changing our wrong practices!", where in fact, changing our mindset must come first. With a narrow mindset, we might still stick with our wrongdoings, with our wrongdoings, it is impossible to have a highly innovative solutions to reduce the effect of climate change. In short, having a narrow mindset is like making of a building without a blueprint, the plans of mitigation in reducing the effects of climate change becomes, messy unreliable and might be unachievable. Being responsible by simply not throwing your garbages anywhere is a great yet unexpensive way, same as through not burning plastics and cellophanes, using biodegradable wastes as fertilizers, simple yet hard to achieve, stop denying, its a fact. So, let's start changing our mindsets before jumping into a pool with lots of piranhas ready to attack you.

Scientists around the world are protesting against their new climate change report. Their protests serve as an initiative to raise awareness about mitigating greenhouse gas emissions to avoid catastrophic climate change in 2025. Therefore, as people living and cultivating in this world, our thoughts and actions are responsible for this issue. Governments provide protocols to maintain and protect a sustainable environment, and in doing so, government protocols must be followed. There is also the example of climate protection. Save water, energy and heat. Ride a bike or walk to reduce gas emissions. Use your own cups and bags instead of consuming plastic bottles and bags. Finally, plant more trees. Also, think about your actions. They are very important in the larger scheme.

Mitigating climate change is about reducing the release of greenhouse gas emissions that are warming our planet. Mitigation strategies include retrofitting buildings to make them more energy efficient; adopting renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and small hydro; helping cities develop more sustainable transport such as bus rapid transit, electric vehicles, and biofuels; and promoting more sustainable uses of land and forests.
About 1.4 billion people around the world rely on traditional fuels like coal and wood to meet their basic energy needs. This is not only harmful to the environment; it can also lead to premature deaths for millions of people, especially women and children. By 2035, global energy demand is projected to grow by more than 50 percent, and even faster in developing countries. All these new consumers need clean energy that will not hurt them or the environment.

                                What We Do

Climate change affects virtually all natural and economic systems. This interaction between climate change and biodiversity, land degradation, forests, chemicals and waste, and international waters points to the importance of recognizing climate change implications in everything we do.

The GEF has the unique ability to support natural solutions developed with systems thinking that takes advantage of synergies to seek multiple global environmental benefits across conventions while reducing trade-offs and duplication.

The GEF-7 climate change mitigation strategy aims to support developing countries to make transformational shifts towards low-emission development pathways compatible with the objectives of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement. Within the evolving landscape of climate finance, the strategy is designed to be as complementary as possible to other sources of climate finance, such as the Green Climate Fund.

GEF support for climate change mitigation efforts is informed by three overarching objectives:

Promote innovation and technology transfer for sustainable energy breakthroughs: Technology is one of the key means to reduce or slow the growth of and stabilize the concentration of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). To that end, technology innovation, especially when promoted in partnership with the private sector, can help create or expand markets for green products and services, generating jobs, and supporting economic growth, while contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions. Resources from the GEF play a key role in piloting emerging and innovative solutions, including clean technologies, business models, supportive policies and strategies, and financial tools which foster private sector engagement for climate-friendly technologies and innovations. Four entry points have been prioritized for GEF-7 support in the climate mitigation area, in consideration of their innovative nature and complementary to other financial mechanisms: de-centralized renewable power with energy storage; electric drive technologies and electric mobility; accelerating energy efficiency adoption; and cleantech innovation.

Demonstrate mitigation options with systemic impacts: Climate change affects virtually all natural and economic systems. The interaction between climate change and all areas of the GEF’s work points to the importance of recognizing climate change implications in other focal areas by harnessing mitigation options and integrating climate resilience measures, while promoting multiple global environmental benefits in a holistic and integrated fashion. This will be done via the three GEF-7 cross-cutting Impact Programs: Sustainable Cities; Food Systems, Land Use and Restoration; and Sustainable Forest Management.

Mainstreaming mitigation concerns into sustainable development strategies: The GEF continues to address the need for enabling conditions to mainstream climate change concerns into the national planning and development agenda through sound data, analysis, and policy frameworks. This is exemplified by the GEF support for National Communications, Biennial Update Reports, Technology Needs Assessments, Nationally Determined Contributions and the Capacity-building Initiative for Transparency

For thousands of years, the earth has used trees to combat climate change. Life cannot exist without the presence of trees on the planet. They have long-term and short-term benefits as well. Most people decide to enhance their gardens with trees for their aesthetic beauty, connecting with nature, or for their calming effect. However, trees do more to the environment than we might think. They enhance air quality, slow down heavy rains and reduce flooding, prevent excessive heat and provide shade and remove carbon from the atmosphere.
Planting trees is thought to be the most enjoyable, environmentally friendly activity that people can engage in to improve the world. But trees have a greater impact on the environment than we might realize. They improve air quality, lessen flooding from heavy rains, stop overheating by offering shade, and remove carbon from the atmosphere.Additionally, it aids in climate improvement by reducing the effects of the sun, rain, and wind. This is done by absorbing and filtering the sun's rays, acting as a barrier against the rain, and preserving warmth by fending off the chilly wind.

We are aware that the climate is naturally changing. However, human activities are mostly responsible for the planet's recent rapid warming and changes in its atmospheric composition. It is as a result of the atmosphere's rising concentration of greenhouse gases, which are mostly brought on by human activities like the combustion of fossil fuels. Planting more trees, quitting the burning of plastics would be a great help to mitigate the effect of climate change. Burning fossil fuels or plastic will trigger the climate change and deforestation is also pointed at as a culprit to this adverse phenomenon.

A lot of activities stated above can help mitigates the effects of climate change. As for I, the activity I want to promote is a reagent of the progress to their programs.

Bees have a huge contribution when it comes to our survival. They are responsible to pollinate the plants for a good production of crops. This quality of crops that we in take determines our health. Bees is one of the species that was greatly affected by climate change. The sudden change of the pattern of weather, and the warming of our planet are altering the synchrony between flowering plants and their pollinators, causing nutritional stress, and decline the number of the pollinator that might lead to extinction.

The aim of this activity will act as an aid or another foundation as we mitigate the effects of climate change little by little. What will be the effect if we are still in the process of mitigating the effects of climate change when all of the bees will die? How can we survive without bees? That is why this activity promotes planting of those six plants mentioned above as a support to this activity. Don't BEE-little bees, BEE-live in the magic they possessed. Let us increase our survivability in this delimma. Let us save bees.

#BEE-live
#BEE Lives Matter
#BEE-utiful Earth, BEE-utiful Life
#BEE My Baby

There are many ways that we as students can minimize it's effects on us in simple ways that is both realistically attainable and effective.
1. Choose transportation means wisely. We go to school almost everyday so it is better to walk or ride a bicycle. Additionally, we now have the option to ride on an electric bus instead of the traditional one.

2. Consume less. Buy locally produced goods, buy on physical stores as much as possible and use eco bags . This means less packaging and time as well as carbon footprint.

3. Recycling. We can repurpose some of our things instead of throwing them away.In this way, we can save money and generate less waste.

These shifts may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (like coal, oil and gas), which produces heat-trapping gases.

Warmer temperatures over time are changing weather patterns and disrupting the usual balance of nature.

Vertical farming has been called “future farming” by many, and with good reason. This is especially true given that by 2050, a major portion of the world’s population will have moved to cities. In such a setting and an ever-expanding population, the desire for conformity will grow too for food that is both organic and natural. The general idea is that rather than using the horizontal plane, which conventional agriculture does, to use the vertical plane to sustainably grow crops and produce, with zero waste, -emissions, and -loss. This can be executed in many ways. Only a small number of innovations can transform the global food systems to make them sustainable, and vertical farming is surely one of them. By reducing water and land use and food loss along the supply chain, vertical agriculture promises to play an essential role in helping traditional agriculture reduce its devastating environmental impact.
