I agree that some people say we work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing.

Many individuals in the modern days often find themselves being overwhelmed by work leading to burnout and stress. According to a study by the American Institute of Stress, work-related stress costs US companies around $300 billion a year in sick leave and reduced productivity. This shows that most individuals do not prioritize relaxation and cannot find a healthy balance between work and personal time. Hence, this leads to negative consequences.

In my opinion, I think that a lot of people have heavy workload that result in lesser time for leisure activities they enjoy. In future, the stress level of people will stay the same or even spike and may be detrimental to our health.

1)State your stand: yes or no (answer the Qn directly first)
yes, I do think that people work too hard and do not get enough time to relax.

2)State your (reason) Point #1– Example, Explain, Elaborate, Link *Many people in Singapore have a regular job in which that would have to work 8 to 9 hours a day, Monday to Friday. This leave the weekdays full. During the weekends, most Singaporean would have to visit their parents or grandparents house as a show of respect and this would fill most of the weekends. Hence, Singaporeans are left with public holidays and the 2 weeks personal leave to relax which is only about 8% of the year. This implies that people work too hard and do not have enough time to relax. as they only have about 30 days for themselves in a year.

3)State your (reason) Point #2– Example, Explain, Elaborate, Link *Another reason why i think people do not have time to relax is due to student life becoming busier. Most students nowadys are busy with school and tuition. For example, a my school life consist of having school from 7.30 to 3, in which i would have to wake up at 6 to prepare, and have supplementary lessons which starts at 4 and lasts about 2 hours. The one hour break in between isn't sufficient for me to go home and most would stay in school to study. Hence, students would finish school at 6 and it takes about half an hour to reach home. Furthermore, i would also have tuition for 2 hours and it usually takes place immediately after school. As a result, I would finish all that at 8.30 and they would have to do homework and revision which takes 1.5 hours. This would all end at 10 where i would have to sleep in order to get enough rest. Moreover, during school holidays, there is an increasing number of supplementary lessons, especially for the upper levels, which prevents the students from enjoying the holidays too. Hence, i believe people work too hard an do no have enough time to relax due to the busy schedule.

4)Provide alternative POV: However, others may argue that…(PEEEL)However, some may argue that there are solutions being made to tackle these issues. For example, some companies have started to look into having a 4 day work week which would leave at least one day a week for people to relax. Furthermore, some would also argue since there are more and more remote jobs that this would bring more free time for the workers. However, these only affect the minority group of people and as a whole isn't applied. Hence, I still think People are too busy and do not have enough time to relax.

5)*Always include your own Personal experience (current or past) using 5W1H, talk about what happened after the experience. Did it change your outlook or perspective on the issue or theme? Did it make you change something about yourself?

6)Global outlook: Link to what is happening in the current society, nation, global news and trends e.g. COVID-19...

7)Restate your point: Therefore, I agree / disagree that...and end off with personal reflection, predictions for future etc

I believe that people work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing. Most people are often occupied with their jobs and school work so there is barely enough time left for relaxing. Some people even get so engrossed in their work that they forget to take a break. This mostly happens to young people due to the popularity of hustle culture. Hustle culture is when people are intensely focused on productivity and success with little regard of for rest, self care or any sense of work-life balance. Therefore, people are working too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing.

However, I also believe that people work too little and spend too much time relaxing. This is because of the development in technology. Nowadays, our phones have many application that can easily entertain us . Thats why these days most people are glued to their devices for hours. With the availabilty of such devices around us all the time, it is not surprising people get distracted and end up spending more time relaxing instead of working. Therefore, I believe that the development the development in technology are causing people to relax too much instead of working.

In conclusion, there are indeed some people who work too much or rest too little.

I believe there are some people work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing. Most people that are overworking themselves have a goal that they think by doing more, they can reach it but at the cost of their time. Time that could strain their health or relationships. Such health problems are neck, back, or chest pain, stroke and many more. This may have
repercussion on them which will affect them in the long run of their goals.

However, I also believe that there are those opposite to the people that work too much. The people that work too little and have too much time to relax. You can call them lazy due to their lack of motivation to reach for their goals, if they have set any. They drag the team down and are bad influences in some senarios. They may also cause the oppsite effect to people by forcing teammates to overwork themselves to cover for them.

I strongly agree that we work too hard and do not have enough time to relax.

As teenagers , we are faced with immense pressure to do well and to succeed academically . Thus , we feel the need to work very hard in order to meet these expectations, leaving little time for relaxation and leisure activities.
Firstly , many parents have high expectations for their children's academic performance. They may believe that good grades are necessary for success in the future and may encourage or push their children to perform well academically, leaving their children with little time to relax or enjoy themselves . For example, during tests and exams , we feel the need to meet the expectations of our parents . If we fail to do so , our parents may put more pressure on us and hence , we are unable to set time aside to do what we like .

On average, students in Singapore spent a total of 50 hours a week studying, with 28.6 hours devoted to classes in school and 22.2 hours to additional out-of-school study. This clearly shows that students , teenagers , are too preoccupied with their school work and do not have the opportunity to loosen up and relax. Futhermore, homeworks are given to us for further revision. This causes us to spend more time sitted down and cooped up at home. Despite a long and tiring day of school, we are not able to relax and enjoy ourselves.

Secondly, working adults are also filled with immense amount of work, and does not have have enough free time for themselves. Research has shown that employees work about 44.2 hours per week on average. Some working adults may even work overtime to finish work that they could not finish, and thus burn the midnight oil to finish it. This does not leave them any free time to pursue their own hobbies. Adding on to the stress, some may even have kids that they need to take care of.

However, others may think that since our phones are with us 24/7, and we are always looking at it, it is counted as leisure time. Many people may look at their phones while working, thus there is a balance between time for us to relax and also to work. counterargument is so weak; just one example on phones

The society today is becoming more work based. Many aspects of our society seem to prioritize work and productivity. With the rise of technology and globalization, many people feel pressure to work longer hours and be constantly connected to their jobs.

Overall, while it's important for everyone to work hard and strive for success, it's equally important for them to prioritize relaxation and self-care in order to maintain their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Hence, i agree that people work too hard and do not have enough time to relax .

vocab still very simply and content is not developed

No

Most </del>Singaporeans believe that being hardworking is a virtue and in a competitive environment like this, people have to work hard to keep up with the competition. Hence, the lives we lead are typically concentrated with work. Since many of us wish to achieve our personal goals, be it academic or economic status, we spend majority of our days trying to improve ourselves, neglecting our need for rest. One instance of this is our lives, we spent many hours at the table studying and practicing to achieve of goals. This holds true even during our free time, we continue putting effort into academic work with the fear that if we do not we will lose out to our peers. Doing this activities without relaxing can be damaging to our health and causing unhealthy amounts of stress.

I agree that people work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing.

Firstly, most students are caught in a hyper competitive atmosphere where they are expected to study for extremely long hours with little breaks or rest in between. In modern times, most secondary and tertiary school students have long curriculum hours and their free time are being increasingly used up on their studies. For example, many secondary and tertiary school students curriculum start at 8 am to 3 pm. However, most of these students have extra lessons that last one to two hours. Moreover, their co-curricular activities takes up another 3 hours. As a result, many students only reach home at 6 pm and they still have to complete their homework and revision. This causes many students to stay up late and not get sufficient sleep. Thus, they do not receive enough time to rest as they have to be competitive with other students.

Also, most students face an immense pressure from society and their parents to perform well academically to attain a job with a high income. Due to such expectations and demands from society, they would feel like a letdown a disappointment bad if they were not be able to meet their expectations and to let their parents down, so they study significantly more to perform their best. However, that leaves them very little time to relax. For example, Students in JC and Poly have very busy <del>and vigorou</del>s timetables and they often 'mug' to cram and memorise a lot of information in a short amount of time as a result of their demanding curriculum. Most of them would sacrifice time spent on their hobbies and their sleep to cope with their studies. Thus they feel extremely stressed and do not spend enough time to relax.

However, some people disagree with the statement as they feel that people have sufficient sleep and a good work life balance.

Incomplete format; conclusion missing

Denise:
Yes I agree that we work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing.

Firstly academically, there is a lot of workload, like homework and revision and especially if one do not plan their time well, the chances of getting a good grade may not be high. For example, we go to school from 0730 to 1500, sometimes we would have extra classes to help us to improve our grades, by the time we reach home, we still have to attempt the questions our teachers gave us as homework and do our own revision of topics we are unfamiliar with. We spend hours working to get satisfactory grades however sometimes our parents may not agree with us and may push us to work even harder to do better or at times it could be us having conflicts on our own, setting too high expectations that we are unable to achieve spending more time and effort putting our heart and soul into school, leaving us with no time to relax, or even go out to unwind and enjoy the beauty of mother nature. On the other hand, we cannot just focus on working our mental strength, we need to take care of our physical bodies so that it can handle the rigor of examinations and normal daily life whereby we need to find time to exercise so as to strength our own bodies and ensure that they are in optimal conditions. Taking care of our bodies can be as simple as going for exercise or having sufficient sleep. It adds more pressure to us and increasing our workload each day. How i wish time would wait for me to complete all my tasks before I sleep. Hence, why I feel that we work to hard but we don't spend enough time relaxing.

Secondly, due to inflation, which is the rate of increase in prices over a given period of time, and it brings issues to people on a day to day life, households, or consumers, lose purchasing power when the prices of items they buy, such as food, utilities, and gasoline, increase.
Implying that, people will have to work harder to find other source of income to be able to take care of themselves which leaves them not a lot of time to relax and unwind. In addition,it is inevitable that during work we have to face problems and learn how to problem solve them which if we struggle to resolve it, we would spend hours thinking of a solution. It can be quite taxing on the body, which may decrease our immune system and we would be vulnerable to different kinds of diseases. Due to working long hours and having little rest at times worrying whether they would have enough to survive for the next day. Which doesnt gives us time to relax. Furthermore, people who plan to retire during that period could be bad as the target amount must keep rising to pay for the same quality of life. In other words, your savings will buy less as time goes on.To be prepared for inflation during your retirement, save more than you think you will need. It's also important to begin saving as soon as possible in order to benefit as much as you can from compounding interest. Therefore, people would need to work harder for their future as inflation is unavoidable, hence everyone works too hard and dont spend enough time relaxing.

However, some may argue that they have time to rest and relax given our hectic schedule. During the weekends, they would make time to go out to have fun with their friends, go enjoying doing hobbies. Like a famous quote: time is money.Others feel that they need to spend their time wisely as it is very precious as one cannot turn back time. While others plan their time and have a schedule each day, they are able to create and make time for themselves to relax and chill after working very hard. For example, having a work life balance, brings happiness to peoples life which increases productivity while working while being able to have some ‘me’ time statistics show that 3 in 10 people feel that they have a good work life balance which helped them in developing a greater control over our focus and ability to concentrate on the task at hand benefitting their own health and having more time to relax too. Hence i feel we have enough time to rest and work.

Therefore, I agree that

we work too hard and do not spend enough time relaxing. Personally, I feel that we as humans work too hard at the same time we need to find time for us to relax so that we can destress our minds from everything that we have experienced through. I hope in the near future that we work smart and more efficiently so as we can get our well deserved break.

This should be the last paragraph--> Most people today work long hours, and are often left with little time left for relaxing. While hard work and dedication are essential for achieving success and personal goals, overworking can lead to stress, and other negative outcomes. Studies have shown that taking breaks and engaging in relaxing activities can have many benefits, including improved mental health, increased productivity, and enhanced overall well-being. However, it's important to note that different individuals have varying definitions of "too much" work or "enough" relaxation. Therefore, it's important to find a balance between work and leisure that works for each individual.

I Agree that we spent too much that we spend too much time starting and not enough time relaxing as O level students There's a lot of pressure on us to do well in our people and get higher than other schools so we can get good marks get good marks and be on the better side of the bell curve. All ever put us in a position When we have to try our hardest to make sure wwe then we do not get beatbox so we can get into so we can get into a good toshi education cost that we what's the V-1 and already for it When we have to try our hardest to make sure wwe then we do not get bad marks so we can get into so we can get into a good tertiary education course that we want and ready for it For example me personally I studied 3 hours A-day and have About 2 hours of break so I spen more time than actually relaxing

Another reason I agree that I spend more time studyinh than relaxing Is that we spend too much time in school too much time in school compared to how long compared to how long out there is In 24 hours we spend at least 7 hours sleeping 8 hours in school This Leaves us with 9 hours of the day left Some of these time is left is left for eating showering showering and spending time with your family And commuting Please then leave us with Barry anytime for relaxing If all I agree that we spend too much time studying and too little time relaxing

full of spelling errors and this sounds like a complaint session

However I also disagree that we spend too much time studying and too little time relaxing In one year of school there is plenty of holidays Make the best out of there are also weekends and fridays that we only have half days in

In my opinion, I agree to a certain extent to the statement above.

One of the reasons we agree is because I think we live in an over-competitive society. As such, one would need to constantly evolve, learning new skills, just to get a job. While constant learning is not necessarily a bad thing, having it be the only means to get a job can be tiring, and the act of leaning can take up vast hours of time. Upskilling courses on MySkillsFuture can range anywhere from 8 to over 36 hours, from what I've seen. These courses can eat up at whatever free time one has after their own working hours as they are usually part-time. Hence, just a little bit more of a person's week can be taken up just to get a job in this competitive society. you just contradicted yourself and why are your promoting SkillsFuture so much here?

While that applies to the working adult looking for a job, the average student may have a lot on their plate too. After their usual curriculum ends, it is very likely that students are exhausted or have even more activities in their day. This is especially true for students in highly-competitive sports CCAs, like basketball or badminton, or physically demanding arts CCAs like dance. Furthermore, these CCAs usually take place more than once or twice a week. The average students after these CCAs are probably worn out and may not be in the right state of mind to do thier homework or study, let alone relax. As a result students may have too many school commitments to take care of first before they have time for leisure activities.

However, I do believe that sometimes, people lack time management skills, especially students. At times, students can prioritise and overindulge on their leisure activities like gaming, and lose track of time. As a result, they fall short on work, and this effect can snowball until the student piles up a massive backlog of tasks to complete, leading to them feeling like they haven't time to relax, although it is completely their fault.

incomplete format; you should include your own personal examples

In my personal opinion, I partially agree with this statement.

In a busy world like now, we have to spend most of our time doing work and leave less room for relaxation as we get older. Because of this, I agree that having little to no time to relax can be quite a bad thing as we would get very stressed over the number of things that we would have to fulfill, such as schoolwork or preparing for an upcoming exam. This means that we get little rest time and sometimes it can be quite a waste, as you would eventually be on the verge of death and you would realise how dull and boring most of your life was.

However, there is a quote that stands out to me which mentions "suffer now, enjoy later". This quote is rather meaningful as it implies that although we may be taking a large amount of time up through our academic commitments, we would eventually be rewarded for our hard work and will have a easier life later on. Because of this, I cannot say for sure that we spend too much time on work and rest little as there may be times where we get good rest out of all our hard effort being paid off.

In conclusion, although work can sometimes be quite a bore and makes our lives seem pathetic and worthless, there may actually be something at the end which is worth working for.

i dont want to mark this because youre not following the format! it's so short!

Yes, definitely. Living in a technologically-dominated world, we barely spare time for leisure activities that are more hands on. (??? NO LINK; technology= means people are no longer hands-on?? makes no sense) Moreover, the world's population is(are you sure about this?) situated near city areas, discouraging the interests of such leisure activities lke fishing to be cultivated.

Rewrite to this:
Yes, leisure activities like fishing appeal greatly to me. As an adventure seeker, I enjoy being in the outdoors and in the presence of nature. As society progresses, we are increasingly living in urban areas with poorly designed green spaces. In addition, digital technology, overscheduling and overprotective parenting may have caused the young to spend less time outdoors. Personally, I'm one of the minority who enjoys recreation in nature so fishing would be an ideal outdoor activity for me.

Personally, I feel that fishing is a relaxing activity that gives a sense of serenity and tranquility. It cerates <del>enables</del> a moment of peace and quietness, and instils a sense of calmness in me. This allows me to get away from my hectic lifestyle and forget about my worries and stresses momentarily, truly putting my soul and focus into the activity, which allows me to completely immerse myself in nature. <del>ease into it.</del> Therefore, this cultivates <del>having </del>the habit of deep focus, and it allows me to concentrate better when i get back into working mode.

Besides, fishing can also train my patience, as it is a laborious activity that is time-consuming. It takes resilience and determination to try different methods to get the fishes to snag the lure.

Despite knowing that past times like fishing alone in a nearby lake is a peaceful activity which allows us to take our mind off the daily hectic life, we would not find fishing appealing. <del>This is because the time taken</del> To prepare bait and to find a suitable fishing spot is time-consuming and labour intensive. <del>find a peaceful spot in a lake which allows</del> fishing is very time consuming while the process of waiting for some fish to take the bait is very slow.

Fishing is not appealing to me.
As a child, my father would often talk about fishing. It was obvious my father enjoyed fishing. One day he brought me to fish at Punggol jetty. In the beginning I thought this would be exciting, however I was quickly proven wrong as we had to wait a long time before we caught a fish. Eventually we went home with only a few small fishes caught. Fishing requires patience, however, I find it too slow-paced or time-consuming for my liking. Fishing is also inconvenient as it requires a lot of gear and preparation. Fishing can involve being outdoors in hot, cold, or wet conditions, which I find uncomfortable and unpleasant.

However, others may think that fishing is a calming and relaxing activity. The peaceful sound of water and the natural surroundings helping to reduce stress and promote relaxation. Fishing also allows people to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty and diversity of aquatic ecosystems. It also can be a challenging activity that requires skill and patience, which can be rewarding when a catch is finally made. Fishing can also be a social activity that brings people together to enjoy each other's company while pursuing a shared interest.

Personally, if I want to destress and relax, I would play badminton instead.

No, fishing does not appeal to me. Less strenuous activities such as reading <del>captivate</del> piques my interest better. Reading allows me to immerse myself <del>into</del> in a refreshing world, as compared to fishing which seems mundane. Additionally, reading acts as a gateway to truly experience the book in a the first person <del>book</del>, creating a unique, other-wordly connection to a diiferent world. <del>interesting story all around</del>. Fishing requires extreme patience and resilience as fishing can be monotonous. Conversely, i cannot do the same with fishing, which requires me to wait for the fish to bite the bait <del>lure.</del> Thus, I prefer reading as it is more intriguing than fishing.

Secondly, outdoor activities seem daunting to me. From my experience, i am inclined to see it as a waste of effort and time due to the waiting and uncertainty of whether i will end up with any catch at all. I remember heading to the beach to fish with my primary school friends 3 years ago. Many hours have gone by and I'd still caught nothing. Though i had my friends' company, the restlessness and boredom in the Singapore heat got the better of me, and I could not shake the feeling of regret at not having chosen to spend my time doing something, or anything else. By the end of the excruciating 7 hours, I indeed caught nothing and openly expressed my annoyance at wasted the day away. My friends, on the other hand, seemed to hold different sentiments .They shared that the time spent fishing was mostly peaceful to them, and was a space for them to reflect. While I do appreciate activities that could help me relax in a similar manner way, i prefer to do so from the comfort of my own home, with things like listening to music , especially classical music.
It'd be good if you elaborate on your preferred leisure activity: listening to classical music
Needless to say, that was the last time i joined them to fish, but at least i got to try it out.

Think!

No, Leisure activities such as fishing do not appeal to me. As a person who cannot stay in one place for too long, fishing does not interest me as it requires a long period of sitting and waiting just for something to grab the hook that you have thrown out. I personally would prefer activities that allow me to move around as I do not have the patience to wait for too long. Besides the long wait for fish, the thought of staying in the hot sun for too long and having a lot of sweat further discourages my will to try this activity.

If I were given a choice , I would choose to play badminton or do some jogging as those allow me to move around in my own free will.

Some leisure activities that my family and i engage in, are playing board games and watching entertainment programmes together.

My parents are aways busy with work and they have to work even on Saturdays . My brother is busy with his internship as well and myself who is taking O'levels soon have many homework to do. We all are equally stressed and in order to relieve them we have been gathering together every Sunday to play board games. EXAMPLE? Give some specific examples to make your response more authentic; Focus on ONE specific incident which was memorable to you; 5W1H Benefits of playing board games? As a family, we play to unwind and relax. Playing board games as a family leads to bouts of laughter that stimulate endorphins and connections in the family, producing everlasting memories. Besides being a form of entertainment, playing board games increases brain function. Playing stimulates brain areas that are responsible for memory formation and complex thought processes for all ages. Engaging in play assists in practicing essential cognitive skills, such as decision making, higher level strategic thinking, and problem solving. It has become a tradition in our family as not only it helps relieve stress, we also get quality bonding time. I look forward to every Sunday as I get to talk to my family and we get to share our problems and comfort each other. We also had fun times when we told each other funny stories about what happened at work or in school and I always laughed when I heard my dad tell us dad jokes although they were not good. These bonding times are my favourite moments and nothing could replace it.
<del>
(P)The other leisure activity my family and i do is watching entertainment programmes together. (E)We watch entertainment programmes such as drama, movies and game shows. We usually do this at home, either in the evening, during dinner time or after we complete our homework. (E)It is a form of our bonding time. After a tiring day in school, being at home, sitting together with my loved ones in the living room, sharing our laughter and tears while watching the shows together, makes me appreciate my family a lot and grateful for the simplest moments in life, such as this. We get to share our emotions and view points on the shows and get to understand each other's personality more, strengthening our bond.(L)As the saying goes, "Sweet and simple", even though watching television together is not an extravagant activity, it stills bring joy to me and my family doing something simple, and nothing can compare to it.
</del>
Some leisure activities that my friends and I engage in are shopping and going to the park.

<del>With O'levels around the corner, my friends are equally nervous and anxious as me and to relax once in a while, we like to go out to shopping malls and shop for daily necessities like stationaries, hair accessories, jewelries and food. We like to go to malls like Suntec City during school holidays after we finished our school work. We would usually meet in the afternoon and go for lunch before starting our shopping spree. We often visit stalls like Daiso, Muji, Popular and many others. Going shopping with my friends allows me to communicate with them more and I can get to know them better. We like to talk about the trends that are popular at the moment and we show each other funny videos while we walk. These shopping trips with my friends makes me very happy and I hope that we will meet up and go shopping together even if we end up in different schools after Secondary education.</del> Do you think the oral examiners would find this response informative and telling of your language proficiency?

In addition, going to the park is another leisure activity my friends and i do. specify the park? examples should be specific to make the response more authentic; We will go to the park together at least 3 times a month, during the weekends or holidays, to catch-up and destress by taking a stroll, exercising or even just walking to the Mcdonalds in the park for breakfast. Being in the park also allows us to feel refreshed as we are surrounded by the greenery, cool wind and fresh air. Scientific research shows that being in the park helps to improve psychological and social health. Being in the park makes us forget about the stress we deal with in school due to the preparation of our o-levels, as there i a shift in the environment.

i believe that doing these leisure activities with the people who are important to me is a great way to spend time and strengthen the bonds between us. It also helps to keep our social , mental and physical well being in check. Making the obstacles we face in life easier to combat, as i know that i'll go home to receive the love and support from my home.
vocab is still too simple; focus on ONE activity for each party (friends / family) and write your EEEs in detail

Firstly, one leisure activity that I can engage my family in is to visit the park. There are many activities one can do at the park, both alone and with others. I could have a picnic, play some sports or take a peaceful walk. Out of so many options to choose from, my personal favourite activity is to partake in Football. As an athletic person, I really enjoy running around and to just break a sweat. I remember, vividly, running around on an open field and playing football with my brothers. We would occasionally visit Bishan-Ang Mo Kio park to play together. My brother and I would team up together against our parents in a football match. I remember my brothers and I working together cohesively to beat our parents. We would shout loudly in excitement every time we scored a goal. focus on the main activity-football... research what other benefits does football bring? do you have an idol you look up to? who introduced the sport to you? <del>Afterwards, we would go to the nearby Mcdonalds to grab lunch. These activities with my family always helps to close the gap between us as we do not spend much time together due to our busy weekday schedules. Therefore, I would definitely cherish the times that we spend together as a family.</del>

Secondly, some leisure activities me and friends engage in is playing music together. I picked up the guitar in Secondary 2 as i was very inspired by a Japanese band and i wanted to learn how to play my favourite songs, which were written by them. Although it took me a long time to master the basics, i managed to overcome it and could play decently in no time. From there, I met new friends who could play other instruments as we shared our common interest together in Rock Music. Sometimes we would come together and form a temporary band to jam together and destress by choosing songs based on how we felt at that point in time, whether we were feeling at a loss or in a state of euphoria. For instance, my friends and I came together to form a band to play a song for a Values in Action project as a form of entertainment for <del>targeted at </del>the migrant workers. We chose 'A Hard Days Night' by the Beatles as we felt the migrant workers worked very hard and recorded it for our project. Throughout the recording, we talked a lot, cracked numerous jokes about our school lives and what we planned to do after secondary school. We would unwind to the catchy grooves of the song as we play together in sync and harmony. After that session, I felt the most at ease I had ever been in a long time as I realised I could play songs that I loved. The best part was that I could also get to know my friends even better.

vocab is still simple; OK attempt to answer the question;

Check! Is your response answering the question or are you simply talking about so many activities without elaborating, explaining, and focusing on one example? This sounds like a complaint session about how you have enough time to pursue your multiple hobbies.

Focus on ONE activity that your friends engage in. 5W1H, EEE; study my example below:

One activity that my friends and I engage in is badminton. I was first introduced to the sport by happenstance. I was clueless as to which CCA to choose in Sec 1 and my friend suggested badminton out of the blue. We showed up for the trials without any prior experience but we remain unfazed even when we went up against players twice or size. We played with heart and the coach took notice of us. Soon, the rest is history and badminton is now an integral part of our lives. Badminton is great way for us to socialise, maintain physique and tone our muscles. It builds both our physical and mental endurance, reducing the risk of hypertension and other health problems later on in life.

Most of my friends enjoy playing music games for leisure, which are interests i share as well. These common interests are great for us to bond, especially over the weekend and during the school holidays when we all want to just catch a break. Over long breaks, my friends and I can spend full days chatting on Discord or whatsapp while we play Clash Royale, Call of duty or Pub-G together. The shared frustrations and sense of accomplishment when we go through the games together really brings us closer. We also enjoy meeting to play badminton. While some of us are part of the school's badminton team. it is a different experience when we play recreationally, as there isn't the pressure of preparing for competitions, and we can simply fous on having a good time

As for my parents, most weekdays, they come home rather late after work, and prefer to watch television together. After a hard day's work, they prefer to sit back and relax , and not overwork themselves. As I am usually busy with school work and CCA on the weekdays as well, it's quite unfortunate that we do not get to spend to much time together. However, we try our best to make up for it over the weekends where we make time to have meals with one another. Something we enjoy doing is trying out new eteries or cooking new dishes, and it is a good way for us to spend quality time.

Firstly, being in the symphonic school band, I got to know a few of my schoolmates who were also passionate about making music. Together, we decided to start a band. Occasionally, during the holidays we would decide to meet up and jam to songs together. During these sessions, we get to escape from our hectic life for a moment. In Sec 3, most of us were struggling to cope with the huge increase in demand for each subjects and felt the pressure of school. Playing in our band, we were able to relieve the stresses of our school life and unwind with something we truly enjoy. Playing in the band not only allowed us to relax, we were able to bond with one another by hanging out after every session and we could share <del>about</del> our problems with one another.
Benefits of playing music? Besides de-stressing oneself, what else does music do for you?
what kind of songs do you play together? What instruments do u play? LACK OF EEEs; vocab still too simple

Secondly, my family would usually go out during the weekend to shop. Shopping could be something as simple as grocery shopping during the weekends. On Saturdays, we would sleep in until 8 and go down to our nearby supermarket to stock up our fridge. This simple routine acts as a simple reset for the rest of the week. Grocery shopping can be therapeutic in our hectic and fast-paced society. It can decompress and distract us from the stressors within daily life such as the pressures of school work and the stressful workplace. Research has shown that making shopping decisions can help reinforce a sense of personal control over our environment. It boosts happiness and injects a healthy dose of serotonin as part of self-care, which is why it's called retail therapy! focus on ONE activity your family indulges in. <del>We would also dine out together to catch up on each other's days. </del>
<del>Since during the weekday, we hardly spend time with each other, due to various reasons like after school activities and work.

</del>Teenagers and parent do not have the same interest. This can be due to the generation gap that we have between each other, parents are still fascinated on the traditional way of thinking. That is scoring well in all academic aspect, playing the classical instruments, and not involving in unnecessary fun. Because of that, it can lead the student to study hard and work hard that could cause stress on their mental health as they have a lot of stress. Parent at this generation do not know the trend that teenagers are into. Hence, they wouldn't understand the stress or our interest. For example, many parent are disapproving teenagers who are into gaming. They believe that gaming doesn't bring them good future and because of that, many relationships between them would drop. Parent would want the best for their child, and they would go an extra mile to bring them good future. however, such interest to parent would think is a waste of time causing tension and fight between the relationship.

Therefore, my friends and family does not have the same view. However, it would depend on the common interest. My personal view is that, if parent were to be more supportive and learn what is the current trend for teenagers, this can build a stronger bond between the two causing a good relation between the parent and child relationship. Being unstanding on what the child and to pursue in the future. <del>
</del>

One activity that I do with my family is badminton. As my parents want me to exercise for a while every weekend, we would go out to a nearby park to play badminton, as well as occasionally take a walk through a park. I thoroughly enjoy these activities as they allow me to spend some time away from my schoolwork, and it is also a good way to get exercise especially considering that I have little time to exercise after school.

Another activity that I do with my friend is a rather interesting hobby that I have recently picked up. As my friend and I were both in the National Cadet Corps, we were introduced to a performing art known as Precision Drill Squad, which involves doing impressive and skillful tricks using a dummy rifle or a stick for a performance. Eventually my friend and I begin to get more passionate about this activity, and we would occasionally come together to do this activity using our self made sticks, and would try out some stunning tricks that range from moderate to extremely difficult and high-level. We enjoy doing this activity as it is fun to try out a hobby that sticks out from others, which allows us to make a simple flow with the stick which we would sometimes sync to music.
Doing these activities allows me to not only become more fit, but also allows me to spend more time with my friends and family.

Vocab is still too simple; not Upper Sec level
This is definitely too short; lack of EEEs
P1: Who introduced you to badminton?

No, leisure activities like fishing do not appeal to me.
One reason why fishing is not my cup of tea is because I find the thought of having to sit for a long period of time, only to catch something that may disappoint is very time consuming, as well as physically and mentally draining. For example, picture sitting in the scorching hot sun, legs feeling extremely cramped, hoping to chance upon a fish that may make your whole experience worth it, but only catching an extremely small fish, or worse still, not catching anything at all. The thought of that just seems off putting whenever I think about fishing. Not only would you be at risk of sunburn or insect bites, you may also wake up the next day with extremely sore legs that made you feel like you just completed a marathon. Factors like these is why I tend to steer clear from activities like fishing.

Another reason why fishing does not interest me is due to the fact that I generally prefer other forms of sport that enable me to move around freely. Being diagnosed with mild ADHD, I usually find it hard to stay in one place for too long. Because of this, fishing is an exact polar opposite from my interests as it requires you to do exactly what I dislike, which is staying in place for a long period of time. If I had the chance, I would choose a different activity such as badminton. Badminton enables me to express freedom of movement, and it is also a leisure sport that I can play against my friends with. Another good thing about badminton is that it is less tedious to set up, as badminton can be played at any park area, while fishing requires me to travel to a specific location. These reasoning lead to my further cynical views towards fishing.

However, some people may argue that fishing is a good and conducive hobby for them as it allows them to unwind from their tiring commitments, such as working. As much as fishing may have some downsides to it, it also has some positive factors that other people would favour. One such reason is that fishing may enable some to be able to bond with others. For example, a fisherman could very well meet others near him that share the same common experiences. They may share their viewpoints and forge a common friendship with each other. Factors like these allow some to relish their fishing experience, but unfortunately, there are just too many downsides to fishing that fuels my disdain towards it.

One experience that made me dislike fishing was when I was much younger and went to a farm to attempt it out of curiosity. Needless to say, I was met with a major disappointment when I realised that trying to catch a fish was actually not as straightforward as what is usually shown in the media. Not only was I unable to lure in any catches that would make my day, there was also tiny fishes smaller than the hook that would take a quick nibble out of the bait which ultimately undermined the effectiveness of the lure. Safe to say, the only thing that I caught that day was a fever from staying out in the sun for too long.

In conclusion, given my previous experiences, I still stand by my words and reiterate my point that activities like fishing does not appeal to me.
