Learning/Engagement for K-6

These guidelines are a blend between best practice for engagement with curriculum (live, asynchronous, working on assignments, etc.) and some alignment to state required instructional minutes. The state will be flexible with what the 180 days include for engagement. Collaborative teams will need to review the pacing guides in Florida Virtual and suggested days by module and minutes per lesson to create their weekly schedules.

Kinder =2-3 hrs/day, 10-15 per week

1st - 3rd =4 hrs/day, 20 per week

4th-12th =5 hrs/day 25 per week

*Note; the times are estimated engagement time for students -- not synchronous learning times. They will have to estimate the amount of time a student may need to engage in an asynchronous learning task and build into their weekly schedules and due dates. Teachers will need permission to understand that this amount of time may not be the exact same for all students as ongoing progress monitoring and assessment will help guide the pace, along with the standards and pacing information.
