Epiphanies
- Julian still has love for his mom, and enough to be upset over her death in the end
- The colored boy and woman from the bus depicts Julian's childhood of abuse and trauma. When his mother gets punched, the guilt of the mistreatment of Julian consumes her and she ultimately dies of guilt and remorse.
