A Christmas story

Rhea absolutely loves Christmas and for their first one together, Anderson bought her a designer Christmas tree. This was a HUGE deal because Anderson is pretty cheap and the tree was pretty expensive. But in true Anderson spirit, he made the most of it by saving the trunk of the tree, drying it inside for over a year, and then crafting it into the most beautiful box—a one-of-a kind heart-shaped ring box that he used to propose to Rhea on July 26th, 2019.

~Rhea and Anderson

Snowy sea lion

When there’s fresh snow in Vancouver, the only thing to do is call up a friend and build a snowman which is exactly what Rhea did. She decided to call her friend Anderson and slyly not mention that it was just going to be the two of them. Anderson braved the weather and took transit for an hour just to hang out in the snow with Rhea. (He couldn’t drive his van because he was in the process of rebuilding its engine head.) They met at Tim Horton’s and to Anderson’s dismay, Rhea had already bought hot chocolate and Timbits for them. He had hoped to be the one to pay for their treats, but Rhea beat him to it. When it came time to build a snow man, the creative pair decided that a snowman wasn’t good enough, they would instead build a snow sea lion combining Rhea’s love of the ocean and Anderson’s love of challenging tasks. We know this sounds a lot like a date but believe us when we tell you that it wasn’t. In fact, it was at least one year after this that Rhea and Anderson went on their first date.

~Rhea and Anderson

Nietzsche night

With the best of intentions, Rhea and Anderson once ended up hiking down a foreign mountain trail, Le Chemin de Nietzsche, in the pitch black on Christmas eve because the buses had stopped running and they needed groceries. Foolishly, they had bought 6 litres of Perrier that Anderson had to mule down the mountain. Even though it was difficult, it is one of the most memorable Christmas Eves that they have ever had.

~Rhea and Anderson

I love these stories! And Anderson (love your name) , you take the cake for your Christmas ring box! That is a priceless gift! The story I want to share, is a little story about my pal Rhea, when she was growing up 2 doors away. There was no equal to Rhea's interest in animal care. She has a huge kind heart and great openess. This is story is a rescue of Wiley, a crazy (who knew) fox terrier from the states. I was hoping to find a companion for my young fox terrier, Remy. When the opportunity presented itself Rhea didn't hesitate. She was up for an adventure and I had a travelling buddy.

So ... we hopped in the car with my dog Remy and went to find this little holy 'terror'. We found him , packed him up and listened as he growled and snarled the whole way home. OMG He was too long an 'outlaw' to be with other dogs and after much effort and advice, eventually ended up in Montreal (where they love fox terriers) at my daughter-in-law's parents. They renamed him Harley, and he had a colourful happy life chasing and fighting with anything 4 legged . How perfect was that!
May you two have many wonderful advetures together.
xo Eileen Anderson

A Short Story

Once upon a time, there was a little girl and a little boy. They were the bestest of cousins. The little girl loved her cousin so much that she would travel 2+ hours and cross over the states into Canadian territory just to visit him. She did this every single summer for a very long time. Some summers, she would travel on the greyhound bus alone to see him. She knew she would be in for a good adventure every time she went. The little girl loved to instigate trouble and the poor little boy was forced to follow along. Like many times when it was bedtime and the lights had to be off, she took this chance to jump up and down on the bed and encouraged him to do the same. She also took this time to whisper and exchange stories with the little boy until she made them both get into trouble and get scolded for not sleeping. The little boy was very creative. He loved to draw and one time made a cartoon book that inspired the little girl to do the same. They both loved adventures outdoors as well and would go to the park often to play. They didn't need much to play with as they made up a lot of games together. Every summer day was an adventure!

P.S. Anderson.. I still can't find the secret page :'(

Congratulations to you both and can't wait to meet you in person Rhea!

Love,
Carmen
