In few weeks, I will be going off on a journey. I don’t exactly know where I’m going or when I’ll be back. All I know is that I have to find them. They are all I think about every night and day. I’m not even sure where to find them. Rumor has that they can be found flying across the horizon on any continent including Antarctica. I would hope not since I’m not prepared for any long periods of cold. However, other than this rumor, very few clues have been left to find them. Anyone that has gone off to find them have mysteriously disappeared and never seen again. I can’t image why, but I must not be discouraged by this. I going to find them no matter what they cost is. As my best friend, please ensure that my cat is fed in case I don't return.

They gracefully fly through the air,

As a course of nature shivers and shake with fear.

Butterflies. Rainbow Spotted to be exact.

Casting mind-bending spells upon us, 

Causing the trees they passed to welcome their arms.

The force of Gravity become as blank as an abandon fields.

It’s not able to keep the people on the ground.

They float in the air along with them.

Transformations of people are occurring:

Man to Butterflies in heartbeat.

Space and Time would stand still,

For even they could bear to witness what they have seen

We all want to have their godly like abilities.

As they glide their way to warmer winters. 

(Justin continues to work on the bi-plane and doesn't even look up at them.)

Justin: None of your business.

Man: Oh, wise eh?

(A period of silence pass)

Woman: Hey, wait. I know this guy. He’s that crazy man who wants to search for make-believe butterflies.

Man: Is that so?

(They both laugh hysterically.)

Justin: I can that you don’t have any better do than to watch make me history. Let me give you some advice. Go get yourself a life. You can buy one from the grocery store.

( The woman was clearly not amused by this insult. She glared at him; seething with anger)

Woman: Oh, you’re going to make history, huh? You think that you’re so special? You think that you’re the only one with dreams and life goals? No. You’re just a man with a ridiculous goal. You should set realistic goals in life for yourself.

( Justin finally looks up from his plane.)

Justin: The answer the question that you have previously stated, my good sir, is no. I don’t think that I’m special and I don’t think that I’m the one with life goal or dreams. However, I am one of the very few people that are willing to go to any and every length in order to achieve to make my life goals happen. People like you get brought down and discourage by haters. Unlike you, they just make me more determined to prove them wrong. Maybe you’re the one that needs to get some real-life goals.

(The woman thinks about all things that he could have done if he didn’t like other discourage him. She hangs her head down in shame.)

 Man: Let’s go.

(They walk off)

Justin(to himself): That’s right. Walk off and give up. Just like the others.

Last night, my father told me that he had a story to tell me. I was supposed to be asleep but, I love stories. He said it was a special story too so, I was very excited. I sat up in my bed as I waited for him to begun. He started to tell me a story about butterflies. But, these weren’t just any butterflies. He said that they were magical butterflies. My father’s story was a man who had found these magical butterflies. The man in the story then got magical powers after seeing them. He was able to fly away in the sky. When he finished the story, I could barely contain my excitement. I want to find these butterflies too.

November 20th, 1998

Today, I was in class preparing to fill out for high school. By now, I had lost a lot of interest in school. The district wasn’t teaching me on anything that I would need to know in order to find the butterflies, so why I should care. In addition, It felt like I wasn’t being challenged any way at school. What would be a challenge is finding those butterflies. Not to mention, finding them would be more rewarding than studying any of those boring subjects. My counselor came into my classroom and approach me. She signaled that it was time for our meeting. She addresses that I had not narrowed down any choices that I had in mind for high school. I merely shrug. She decides that to ask me what I wanted my career to be. I told her that I wanted to find the Rainbow Spotted Butterflies. She smiled at me and she said that there are no such things. In her mind, she probably was laughing at me. Just like everyone else, she didn’t believe that they exist. Someday, I’ll prove them all wrong when I find them and I will be the one who laughs last.

April 3rd, 2007

Nearly ten years have passed since my last entry and I have yet to find the Rainbow Spotted Butterflies. Recently, I have gathered together a team of explorers to help find them. We went to Brazil because I heard that they like to go there during their migration. Naturally, we didn’t find anything. My team was very angry at me for poorly leading them into an expedition. When we arrive back in America, I tried to reassure them that we would eventually be located them if we keep persisting. They didn’t believe me and all of them quit after the expedition. This probably would have discouraged most people, but I’m not like most people. In my perspective, they were missing out on a once in a lifetime opportunity. I guess I’ll have all of the glory for myself. 

I became crestfallen. Here I was, a fully grown man, chasing after something that didn’t even exist. I hung my head down in shame.

“Don’t be discouraged,” he said, “You had a dream and you decide to follow through with it.”

I look up at him. He was right. I believe in what I thought was special to me. He points up to the sky.

“Look up there,” he said, “Butterflies.”

I look up. It wasn’t the Rainbow Spotted, but there were just beautiful. I smiled as they flew past. 
Today, I learned the meaning behind the phrase  it isn’t about the destination, but rather the journey behind it.

New:

I had finally reached the village. I tried to get someone’s attention, but everyone seems to be so busy looking in the sky. I squeeze past the crowd trying to find someone who spoke English or at the very least speak to me. They were also shouting very loudly. Since it wasn’t in English, I couldn’t really determine what they were saying. However, when I looked into the sky, there was no explanation needed. They were there in the sky. It was as clear as day. My mouth dropped down to the floor. My lifelong goal had been achieved. All of I think about was all those people who told me that I couldn’t do it. I had proven them all wrong. Suddenly, I got this special feeling in my body. Based on the story that I have heard from my father, I knew that it meant that I was going to take off in the sky with those magical butterflies. Of course, I was right because I knew what I was talking about. Plus, I slowly felt my feet leave the ground. I wasn’t the only either. The entire village began to lift off as well. I smiled. I have been waiting for this moment for a very long time. The villagers and I begun to follow the butterflies in the sunset.

On September 5th, 1989- First day of school.

On January 19th, 1994- Justin Jones heard the story of the Rainbow Spotted Butterflies.

On October 31th, 1994 Justin Jones dress up as a Rainbow Spotted Butterfly.

On November 20th, 1998- Justin Jones fills out for high school application and tells counselor he wants to pursue the magical butterflies. 

On September 20th, 1999- Justin Jones enters in his science fair with a project on the Rainbow Spotted Butterflies. He gets an F.

May 1st, 2003- Justin Jones gets rejected by his idea prom date because he proposes to the girl in a butterfly costume.

June 5th, 2003- Justin Jones wears Rainbow Spotted Butterflies costume to graduation.

 February 29th, 2005- Justin Jones goes on his first journey to London in order to find the Rainbow Spotted Butterflies. He comes up empty-handed.

March 31st, 2006 Justin Jones goes on his next journey to Australia in order to find the Rainbow Spotted Butterflies. He comes up empty-handed again.

April 3rd, 2007- Justin Jones goes and his team on his final journey to Mexico when he visits Brazil. They come up empty-handed. His team bails out on him.

May 3th, 2010- Justin Jones gets a new job as a labor.

August 30th, 2017- Justin Jones goes to Mexico City on his last journey ever to Mexico City to find the Rainbow Spotted Butterflies. He comes up empty handed again and learns to move on with his life.

September 13th, 2017- Justin Jones goes back to school to study for business.

June 2nd, 2021- Justin gets his business degree and starts his own business. 

Anchor 2: And I’m Sara Mills. We are here live with the ground-breaking sources.

Anchor 2: A local man in his thirties named Justin Jones is claiming that he will be the first man the magical Rainbow Spotted Butterflies. Resource show that there have been no previous sighting of these so-called Rainbow Spotted Butterflies and scientists have challenge idea of their existence.

Achor 1: We will now go over to our field reporter for a live interview with Mr.Jones

Field Man: Thank Greg and Sara. Standing right next me is Mr. Jones himself. How are you feeling today, sir?

Justin Jones: I’m doing well thank you.

Field Man: I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule in order to have this interview.

Please tell us about your upcoming adventure.

Justin Jones: I’ll be travel over to Mexico City to search for the Rainbow Spotted Butterflies in my bi-plane.

Field Man: Interesting. How do you that the Rainbow Spotted Butteries will be in Mexico?

Justin Jones: I don’t. However, it’s known that some type of butterflies likes to go to Mexico for its warm climate. For example, the monarch butterflies.

Field Man: That’s correct. So tell us, how long have you want to find these  Rainbow Spotted Butteries?

Justin Jones: Every since I was ten years old. That’s was when my father first told me about the story of the Rainbow Spotted Butteries. I have been hooked ever since.

Field Man: Don’t you think you’re a little too old to be chasing after some Butterflies you father told you when you were a boy?

Justin Jones: Absolutely not.

Field Man:  Ok. So tell us how the story goes.

Justin Jones- A long time ago, a man found the Rainbow Spotted Butteries and obtain their magical abilities.

Field Man: Do you think that this story main purpose is to entertain children?

Justin Jones: Um, No. I'm still entertained by the story and I’m a fully grown adult.

Field Man: Can explain what these magical abilities are?

Justin Jones: No, no one has ever seen them before.

Field Man: So, you're searching for these butterflies in which you have no idea about?

Justin Jones: I do have an idea about them.

Field Man: Most of the questions I ask you could not answer.

Justin Jones: What’s your point?

Field Man: I think your story is illogical.

Justin Jones: I think this interview is over.

(Justin Jones leaves.)
