Joseph was confused about his religion so he went to the woods to pray to god. While he was praying god gifted him the golden plates containing what was going to be the morals of the Mormon religion. Joseph took the plates and created the religion of Mormon through the Book of Mormon. All in all the reason for this reform is because Joseph was confused about religion and thought every religion was missing one key item. During this time, he experienced a series of visions which included God, Jesus Christ, and angels. In one of these visions, an angel directed Smith to a buried book containing golden plates. On these plates was the Judeo-Christian history of an ancient American civilization. Once Smith obtained the plates, he spent several years transcribing them into English, and by the time it was finished, Smith created the sacred Book of Mormon. The one goal I found that was reached from the Mormon religion was the goal of providing a religion that may fill the missing aspects of other religion. This was proven through the major following that sparked from when it was created to present day. Moving on, some effects of the Mormon religion are the exodus from Missouri and the amount of followers. The first effect was the exodus which the mormons moved from Missouri to Utah due to the fact of certain events killing the followers of mormon.  The second effect was the amount of followers. The effect was multiple people began to follow Mormon which increased the followers by a lot but also declined followers of other religions.
