Some teachers have used Padlet as a type of bulletin board...that is interactive! You could use Padlet as a learning theme where you share resources about a topic...let’s say “The Ocean” and post educational videos and files. Then students could also address any guiding questions that you post. They can also share any resources that they find...or create!

My brief break from education: It seems that over the past month, I finally found time to start a new hobby...watercolor painting! I have found out that it is a really relaxing activity! I have been following some tutorials, in fact, this week the discussion is about mixing colors. Has anyone else tried watercolors?

Hello fellow classmates! My name is Leila and this is my first time using Padlet, I'm enjoying it so far. Hello all OTL classmates! This is my first introduction to Padlet, and I can certainly see that this tool would be great for collaboration and I am looking forward to using it in my courses. My latest "hobby" that I have started again recently is running. Although this is also a sport, I consider it a hobby as it gives me an opportunity to really enjoy the outdoors and stay refreshed and energetic, especially during the long winter months! I often take my Golden Retriever, Holly, along for the journey, too. I will plan to post some pics of some of the adventures when I get a chance :) Looking forward to meeting all of you throughout the course!

Hello all! I have heard of Padlet many times from my peers and coworkers but never really took the time to check it out. I currently don't have many hobbies but my fiance and I consider ourselves pretty new to our city (despite moving here 2.5 years ago) so we are still exploring Sacramento and what it has to offer! We are also in the midst of planning our 2021 wedding, both of us are working on grad school, and we are making small renovations to our house! I attached our holiday photo with our cat Eleanor. She absolutely enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the posts!

Hi my name is Saira. I was born in Saudi Arabia and raised in Fremont. I am a single mother of two teenagers and a cat named Anbu (Naruto fans should get the reference). I am currently a Middle School Homeroom teacher at a private school in Santa Clara who teaches ELA & SS.

My most recent accomplishment is starting Grad School. I was married at a young age and wasn't able to complete my undergrad until I had my children. Education has always been a challenge for me due to cultural circumstances, this is why getting into this program is a huge accomplishment for me. I'm very excited to start this journey! A new hobby for me is painting. I find it therapeutic and relaxing. A hobby I wish I had time for is roller blading. I haven't been able to roller blade for years now!

Well, that's a little bit about me. I hope to get to know you all as we progress through the program.

Hello,
My name is Endre Balogh. Padlet is new to me, but I'm excited to learn it. I love the idea of interacting with other people through technology.
My work is my hobby. I teach general music for 4th and 5th-grade students and instrumental (band) music for 5th-grade only. Playing and teaching music is joy and fun, but I picked up an old hobby recently.
I enjoy long motorcycle riding when I have time in my hand. Being on a bike gives me the sensation of "freedom" and puts a big smile on my face. I want to participate in the "Iron Butt" competition by the Iron Butt Association, which dedicates its mission to all safe, long-distance motorcycle driving, for example, one-thousand miles over twenty-four hours.

Hi, my name is Divya Chhabra and I am a middle school math teacher. I have worked with padlet a couple of times before as part of my professional development.

My most recent accomplishment is to enroll myself in a dance class. I was busy raising my two beautiful kids. Now my daughter 8 and son 2, I am able to find sometime for myself. Other than dancing, I love traveling and cooking. Recently, I took some painting classes too and thoroughly enjoyed them. I am very excited to finally be able to pursue my masters. I am looking forward to learn and grow with all of you.

My most recent accomplishment is to complete my church winter training with my family in LA, although it was tired trip but joyful. My latest hobby and challenge will be the “ OTL 603 course” because of my full time college financial aid job, family and church life, I know I need to redeem my time wisely. Hi Everyone!

My name is Kathie and I am also new to Padlet. I have heard of it before from my 9-year-old nephew, so I am sure that I am going to gain some “coolness” points now that I am using it too!

I currently live in Southern California working part time as a student success coach for McNeese State University and take care of my elderly parents, 2 cats and a dog.

My most recent accomplishment is starting my grad program here at CSUEB. I am so excited to see where this academic journey takes me, and I am excited to explore this class with you all as well. I do have a new hobby that I am jumping into- bread making. Yep I am going against the grain and jumping on the gluten train. I have always wanted to be able to bake an awesome loaf of bread for myself or to bring to friend when they are feeling not their best. I must say it is not easy, but I am giving it a good honest try and hope to bake the perfect loaf soon! I also just started running. Not really a “hobby” I know, I guess more of an accomplishment because I got off the couch and did it!

Hello,

My name is Jessica Pena. I was born and raised in New York City. I am a single mother of a four-year-old boy. I am an ESL teacher and I have worked as an English teacher in Colombia, South America, where I discovered my love for teaching.

I have worked with all age groups, from children to adults. I eventually discovered that I enjoy working best with adults.

I currently work at a school called Zoni Language Centers in New York City.

This is my second time working with Padlet. The first time I used this software I was in my undergraduate program. The teacher provided a discussion topic and we had to post our opinions about it. I found it very organized and very interesting, because you can see everybody’s posts and get a clear picture of how each person thinks.

As for hobbies these days, I don’t really have much time for any, besides spending time and playing with my son, Julian.

Hello Class 603! My name is Mezy Mastan. It's so nice to see familiar names from 601 and 602. During the winter break I took 2 weeks off from my job at Davis Street as a lead vocational instructor from Dec Dec 21- Jan 5 off. I also closed my business that I own a franchise in San Ramon, Ca PEL Learning Center San Ramon for winter break. I left for an 8 day Southern Caribbean cruise with my bf we stopped Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, Curacao, and Aruba. 4 Countries were marked off my list. One of my hobbies is traveling so I was happy. I made it back home to spend New Years with my family we spent it in a Lake Tahoe, Nevada in cabin, below you will see a picture of me and my family (sis Mozy, bro Jr, dad Sheik, Mom, Yasmin and me Mezy.). With the left over break time I had despite being back to working full time and running a business I got a new hobby which was wanting to clean my room, car, and business the KonMarie way which is Marie Kondo's way. I binged wanted her Netflick's series and read both of her books and was on a KonMarie cleaning mission. I was able to achieve my goal and I'm glad my life is finally organized for once and no longer super chaotic with clutter everywhere. Fun fact I donated over 30 garbage plastic bags from my house from items from clothes, shoes, bedding, books, dishes, cat clothes, things that did not spark Joy in my everyday life.

Hi Folks,
Josh here and I'm pursuing a 'formal' introduction to the learning and teaching methodologies that are so prevalent today. I'm turning 50 this year and have three children, the oldest graduating from CSU Chico this spring!

I manage a Global Career Coaching network for the world's largest staffing company.

In my role I am constantly meeting and educating via Zoom or Teams or Skype, you name it. The concept of utilizing Blackboard-type platforms to educate and inspire my coaches around the world holds great interest to me.

Hi, My name is Brice! I've heard of Padlet, but haven't had the chance to take a look at it until now. This is really cool!

I'm an English professor at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California. I've been working here for 6 years (3 part time and 3 full time) and I will (hopefully) be tenured at the end of next year.

Something that I recently accomplished was achieving my blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I have been training for 4 years and was promoted in December. I really enjoy training and this is a big milestone for me.

My name is Karen and I taught High School Biology and AP Environmental Science for 13 years in southern California but moved to the San Francisco bay are a few years ago. I am currently substituting in the local middle and high schools.

A new hobby I have started is making things with a Cricut cutting machine. I personalized a few things as Christmas gifts and to organize things around the house, but now I keep looking for more things to make! It's so much fun!

My mother in law died on Christmas Day, so that leadup and final event were of course emotionally draining. It was nice to be close to family, and we had already planned the travel arrangements, so that was sort of considerate of mom-in-law in a way. We loved her dearly, but she was suffering, and we knew this would happen, but still...
So, this emotional experience obviously put a drain on my activity level.
I have too many hobbies and I'm trying to winnow them down. Mostly I love to bake cakes or muffins for my neighbors and family. I have an enormous collection of Nordicware Bundt cake pans in all sorts of fun shapes and sizes. My most recent purchase was a muffin pan related to the move Frozen. I'll be making that for my nieces soon.

Hello everyone. My name is Imee (pronounced as "eye-me") and I have lived in California (San Francisco) most of my life. Go Niners! Eight years ago, my family decided to travel and for seven years we lived in four continents. We spent our time in Asia, North America, North Africa, and Europe. I even managed to learn Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking). Well, I am still learning at this moment. I managed to learned it because my neighbor in Tunisia spoke only Arabic and French, and I didn't speak French. I tried but I couldn't pronounce, "e" in French. So, I stuck with Arabic (Tunisian Arabic) and some Modern Arabic. I just started learning Spanish too because I think it is a romantic language.
This is my first time using padlet. And I am posting a picture of foods that I cooked and made because I started being on a low carbs diet last June 2019. So, far I have lost 35 lbs. I went from size 5 in dress size to size 1. Oh yeah! Although, I cheat on my way of eating once in awhile (I like Chocolate Chip cookies, donuts, and ice cream). I am still trying to learn how to bake low carb goodies.
I am hoping for a fun semester.
