WE CARE FOR HUMANS AND MARINE LIFE. It was found in some studies that pharmaceuticals were found in bodies of water. Our group plan to help mitigate this problem by creating an effective and cheap water filter that can remove these dangerous pharmaceuticals. By doing this, humans and marine life can be benefited.

COCONUT IS ABUNDANT IN THE PHILIPPINES. The group chose coconut for this research because not only is it delicious and abundant here in the Philippines, but also it is cheap and contains a lot of fiber. The coir pith in the coconut gives the fruit a fibrous outer shell.

PROVID OTHERS CLEAN AND POTABLE WATER. A lot of people, especially  poverty, who are unable to drink and use clean water, lack clean water. Most of the time, they would get their water resource from polluted rivers or nearby bodies of water. Our group aims to create a water filter that can be afforded and made by anyone and everyone.

REMOVE THE DRUGS IN THE WATER. As said before, pharmaceuticals were found in bodies of water, which are then engulfed by marine life and humans. This is dangerous because once the pharmaceuticals are swallowed, they can harm the body itself by giving a long-term effect.

WE DO WANT THOSE, WHO DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER TODAY, HAVE THEM IN THE FUTURE. Our main problem is to not only remove drugs in water but also remove other  pollutants present. Water is essential and everyone deserves it and needs it. 

• WE DO WANT THE MARINE LIFE TO HAVE A HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENT. With the pharmaceuticals found in the bodies of water, it is very hard for the sea creatures to cope with the environment they are currently living in. There is more chances of these creatures to be endangered in the future if no action is done now. Also, if the marine life is harmed, the cycle, which happens in biodiversity, will be altered and  damaged.

• WE DO WANT A BETTER AND SAFER SOCIETY. Companies, future researchers and other people living in this world can all benefit and make the world a better place. This research paper will open the eyes of others towards the dangers of the pharmaceuticals found in the bodies of water. In addition, companies will pursue the creation of the researchers, coconut coir pith carbon filtration, to clean the water. We want to make a difference in this world (if this succeeds)  but it would be better if everyone will take action with us.
