         <title>Gerald Ford </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Born: July 14, 1913 in Omaha, Nebraska<br>Ford was a start football player in high school and college. He served during WWII after attended law school. He married Elizabeth Ann Bloomer and they had 4 children. In 1948, he was elected into the House of Representatives, representing Michigan's 5th District for about 25 years. He was chosen to by Richard Nixon to be his VP and eventually becoming the 38th President after Nixon's resignation. He was defeated by Jimmy Carter in 1976.<br>died December 26, 2006 in Rancho Mirage, California. </div>]]></description>

President Ford, although he initially supported the act, vetoed it. However, in 1974 his veto was overridden on a  371 to 31 vote.</div>]]></description>

If you take the pardon, you agree to re-pledge you allegiance to the U.S. and do 2 years of public service. Almost 210,000 men avoided the draft were charged. </div>]]></description>

Providing people with better means to listen to music, meant the spread of the musics popularity. The walkman was a huge factor of music becoming a large part of american culture. The picture below is the walkman featured in the new movie Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. Because of its appearance in this movie, the walkman is a conversation topic once again. It is the main character's connection to his home planet of Earth, and the music he plays with him provides him with a connection to the culture of the time he was on earth.</div>]]></description>

Jaws was the first big cinematic project to put the deadliness of sharks to entertainment use. It sparked a large interest in sharks, and inspired many shark-themed movies and TV shows to follow.          <description><![CDATA[<div>April 1977 the prototype for Apple 2 was introduced. The II was designed in Cupertino, California by Wosniak. It used a MOS 6502 chip for central processing and came with a 4KB RAM which could extend to 48 KB RAM. The external storage upgraded to floppy disc drive which originally was cassette tapes. The 8 expansions slots on the mother board was one of the II's important features. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1964: Walt Disney starting discretely buying millions of dollars worth of Central Florida farmland ranging from 5,000 - 20,000 acres. November 15, 1965 : Disney announced his plans to build the "World's most spectacular theme park." (better than Disneyland) It took 2 years to construct and 9,000 people were employed. By 1971 opening, the total cost of the whole project was $400 million dollars. In its first 2 years, Disney World attracted around 20 million visitors and employed 13,000 people. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Born: October 1, 1924 in Plains, Georgia (Democratic Party)<br>His father has peanut farming business and along with his mother, they were deeply religious as Baptists. Two of his closest childhood friends were African American who were the two most influential adults in his life, Annie Mae Hollis, his nanny and Jack Clark, his father's workers.&nbsp; He studied engineering and went into the Navy. He married Rosalynn Smith, and they had three sons and one daughter. After his father died, he moved back to Georgia to help take care of his mother and the peanut farm. Keeping the family business back and running, entering the politics world. Eventually he became the 39th president and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When the Shah was overthrown, the US embassy became a target. On November 4, 1979, the US embassy Iran was seized and over 50 hostages were taken. The hostages were held for 444 days. The hostages were finally released, but not after making the entire Carter administration look weak. This was the biggest factor to Jimmy Carter losing the republican nomination to Ronald Reagan.</div>]]></description>
