Bloody Sunday was a civil rights march in 1905 that about 10,000-15,000 people attended to protest on more limitations of power that state officials had, fewer hours and better working conditions, and to start allowing national parliament so that people would be able to have a voice and show their own side and reasoning in situations. This event ended with 13 people dead and more than 15 injured.

It started off as a peaceful protest but what they were doing was not legal. Many roads were being shut down but marchers found ways to go down many other roads. They then started to grab rocks, stones, and anything that they could find and started to throw them at British troops and because of that, marchers were shot with rubber bullets and water cannons while trying to arrest many of them. This is where things began to get more violent.

The Widgery Tribunal (British government's response) helped clear the British soldiers and British authorities from any blame. The families of the victims spent years campaigning and trying to show that they believed that The Widgery Tribunal was completely biased and whitewashed (covered up crimes or scandals due to a biased presentation of data).

This affected them greatly. They became very upset and enraged when they heard about what happened in Londonderry and what the British had done. As a result of their anger, Russians went on a strike movement which continued to spread throughout Russia to show that they wouldn't give up on the victims and they wanted the victims to get the justice that they deserve.

I believe that what happened to the Russian marchers was definitely not deserved. Although what they did was illegal, it was not so bad that 13 people deserved to die and nobody deserves to be injured either. I think that the British troops went a little too hard on them and the marchers definitely deserved justice. I think that it was also very biased for the British troops to get cleared from blame because it was up to their own government to make that decision and so the Russians didn't even have a say in anything.
