Now they are stuck in a loveless marriage with way too much baggage because they found out not long after that his family is extremely religious. Divorce is no longer an option.

This shows that love doesn't exist, and the only thing anyone truly cares about is money. Love does not exist because with the way we trick ourselves we are keeping it from ever being possible. People like her think love exists but believe that they will never find it. If you lie to yourself and think you can find love at least go all in.
