         <description><![CDATA[<p>PENITENT MAGDALENE SCLUPTURE</p><p> </p><p>a depiction of Mary Magdalene after a period of penance and following a sinful life, according to medieval legend. This portrayal is a popular subject in art, particularly during the Renaissance period.</p><p>One of the most famous renditions is the wooden sculpture by Italian Renaissance artist Donatello, created around 1440. This life-sized sculpture depicts Mary Magdalene with an emaciated figure and long, unkempt hair, conveying her remorse and suffering. Donatello's portrayal of Mary Magdalene was a departure from traditional depictions, which typically showed her as a beautiful young woman.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
