8 4/5-2/3-5 1/30=3 1/10
8 4/5=8 8/10=8 24/30 3 1/10= 3 3/10 2/3= 20/30. 8 24/30-20/30=8 4/30- 5 1/30= 3 3/30=3 1/10. First multiply the numbers have the same denominators. So 8 4/5 times 2/2 equals 8 8/10. Multiply the denominators so it becomes 30. 8 8/10 times 3 equals 8 24/30. 2/3 times 10/10 equals 20/30. 3 1/10 times 3/3 equals 3 3/30. Next i subtracted 8 24/30 by 20/30 and equals 8 4/30. I know 3 1/10 equals 3 3/30. So i subtracted 8 4/30 by 5 1/30 and the difference is 3 3/30. 3 3/30 is equal to 3 1/10.

We had to make the denominators the same by multiplying and the alike denominators were 15. The difference was 8 2/15. Then, we subtracted the the difference, 3 1/10 by 8 2/15. Since the denominators had to be alike, our answer was 5 5/150. Then we simplified 5/150 to 1/30. Therefore, the unknown mixed number is 5 1/30

Mrs.Johnson baked 16 oatmeal cookies. First, we knew 2 dozens is 24 cookies because in one dozen there are twelve cookies. Then, in the problem it said the denominator is three, so we separated the diagram into three sections. 24 divided by 3 is 8, so each section is 8 cookies. Lastly, two thirds, which is 8 plus 8, equals 16 oatmeal cookies.

Mrs. Johnson baked 16 oatmeal cookies. First she baked 2 dozen, 1 dozen equals 12, so multiply it by 2 and you get 24. Then divide 24 by 3 to find 1 unit .24 divided equals 8. Then multiply by 2 because 2 third of the cookies were oatmeal. 8x2=16, so she baked 18 cookies.
