In the book the children are flying to Oakland,CA to visit there mother. They had been living with there grand parents because there mother abandoned the them. And that can happen in real life. There are different types of families. For example my three cousins live with my uncle and there stepmom. This is a text to world because this can happen to anybody.

I had a connection with Raina in Guts because I feel ick in my stomach too sometimes. I also went to therapy and that helped. Another thing was I had my own bully which started "stealing" my friends but now we are friends.
