Hello! I am Mrs. Thomas and I am extremely excited for our year together! I have been teaching for 17 years in the Blue Valley School District and 13 years at OTE! I have always wanted to be a teacher and I have a love for learning and problem solving. I received my undergraduate and Masters teaching degrees from Avila University. Red has always been  my favorite color. I love it because it is fiery, bold, strong, and warm, yet inviting and loving. What is YOUR favorite color? My husband, Billy Thomas, is the Boys Varsity Coach at The Barstow School in KCMO. He LOVES everything basketball and played basketball in college and professionally. My son, ZION, is 8 years old and will be 3rd grade at Barstow. He enjoys reading, Legos, trucks, playing outside, and McDonald's nuggets and French fries. Zion is a very loving child who loves to build and explore.  My daughter, LEYLAND, is 6 years old and will be in 1st Grade at Barstow. She enjoys ponies, unicorns, mermaids, and rainbows. She loves to color, especially with markers, and create her own stories and coloring books. Leyland is very outgoing, loves to talk and meet new people. We went to Boston to visit my sister and see the beach for the first time. We traveled to Fort Meyers, Florida to visit my dad and spend more time on the beach and warm weather. Aside from teaching, I also coach the University of Kansas Rock Chalk Dancers. This will be my 6th season as the head coach. I have been dancing since I was 3 and have always LOVED to dance and perform. I love soccer, ping pong and swimming. I played premier soccer last year and it was fun. This summer, I went with my family on Caribbean cruise on a huge ship. It has a lot of activities onboard. I also learnt how to skate. I helped my dad build a steel fence too.     This summer we went to Pittsburgh and Toronto, Canada. From Pittsburgh, we drove to Niagara Falls State Park. We saw the Bridal Veil Falls from America and the Horseshoe Falls from Canada. It was thrilling when we went on the Maid Of The Mist 
boat ride into the falls, and also getting drenched under the waterfall in the Cave Of The Winds.
 This year, I am excited because I will make new friends and get to finish my elementary in this awesome school.

One interesting thing about me is that I love to try new things.I went to Grand Rapids , Michigan to visit my cousins. I stayed in a room with my brother.For dinner that night was pizza. In the morning we went on a speed boat and went fishing.The biggest fish I got was about one foot.We stoped fishing when it was dinner time. During the summer me and my family, Jack, Mom, and Dad went to Arizona to the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain. It was so exiting. There was a restaurant where you could get free ice cream and Beverages. There was also two pools and a hot tub. Me, Mom and my brother would play there while Dad was in meetings. Then we went to Silver ton Colorado. We had to ride a train for three hours. We went there to look around. It was kind of fun and a little boring. A week after that we went to Mall of America in Bloomington Minnesota. The Nickelodeon Park was awesome. Then we went to Leech Lake Minnesota and fished for a week. When we got there we rented a boat and went to our cabin. During our stay I was fishing by myself on a dock. But then I saw something jump out of the water. I casted my line out there but I knew I would not get that fish. But then I felt a huge tug. I pulled so hard and then the fish jumped right out of the water and hit the dock hard. I could not believe I caught that fish. As i was pulling it up SNAP!!! My line broke but it landed on the dock. The owner of Brindley's harbor, the resort I stayed at, saw me and ask if he could help. He helped me string the fish and put it in the tank. The next day I won the fishing contest and got a trophy. The summer was really exciting. I went to a wakeboarding camp this summer with my friend Fisher. It was really cool. It was in a cable park and I did a jump on the wakeboard on a ramp called the box. You go up a ramp onto a flat surface and then just drop into the water. I also love skateboarding. I like going to the skate park. I love my Ripstik, I ride it all the time and I broke my arm on it last year. I still ride it. I got a better skateboard this summer and my dad taught me how to Ollie. I also did a golf camp. I like golf it was relaxing but I need way more practice. I hope I can learn more. I also did my second year at Webelos Camp for Cub Scouts. It's overnight camp 2 nights. It's really fun.
