Another&nbsp;reason why Victoria voted for yes is because of the economic depression in the 1890s there were high levels of unemployment and strikes happening throughout many states so if the colonies united they could combat the economic crisis. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think that people in WA were voting yes to become one country because WA was so separated from the rest of the continent, they may have been able to improve transport between states, and therefore increase trade opportunities. Some WA citizens may have voted no because they felt happy being such a separate country with their own rules. I think that people voted differently depending on their life. For instance, a farmer would have different political interests to a person who lives in the city.</div>]]></description>
