For the duration of the video the two black people were sitting on the outside clearly having a reaction, completely oblivious to the two white people interacting with one another. What came up for me is wondering who curated the content and who was involved in deciding this was ‘ok’ to broadcast to the world. It occurs that there is ‘diversity’ on the show but only by virtue of outward appearance- which is a check the box let’s look like we care practice. If the hosts truly valued one another as a team it seems as though they would have realized this was problematic, and hopefully had space to discuss why this content shouldn’t be presented.

The two white anchors seemed like leaders or like they were in charge because they delivered and commented on the story.
