Wow!! When you think of Montbello you automatically know who officer Henry is. Thank you so much for always looking out for me since the day I stepped foot in Montbello as a freshman. Thank you for always being there for Ani & I. I always knew I could always go to your office and vent. Senior year you got me my internship at the Denver jail when I mentioned to you I wanted to go into law & enforcement. OFFICER HENRY! Your presence on our campus as a black male police officer was empowering and it was the only time I felt safe with law enforcement. I appreciate your humility, insight, generosity and compassion for our community. I have never met a more kind, compassionate, fair, respectful, RJ mindset knowledgeable police officer in my life. It is with great sadness that we see you go, the Montbello community could use an entire force of law enforcement like yourself. I am super grateful that I got to work with you and know you. The Essence of you Officer Henry

Words can’t express to you my thoughts of a Montbello staple not being on the Montbello campus. When I met you years ago I wondered about this black man in blue. Having worked with you I appreciated the Essence of you! You as a black police officer did not believe in contributing to the pipeline to prison and felt it was important to figure out the third way. People don’t know the visits to homes to talk or to provide a resource to parents and students. People don’t know how you did not want to write tickets but tried to figure out that third way and often refused to write tickets for ridiculous things. People don’t know that wearing your DPD uniform did not change the fact that you are a black man and are actually fairly woke and sought to impart some of that knowledge about our history to students no matter their race but especially to black boys. Thank you for being Officer Henry and not a race soldier. Thank you for showing up every day to support and care for and not harm students. Your patience is stellar. An officer Henry is rare and I just wanted to say how much I respect the Essence of you Officer Henry!

I know you will be missed here in our building more than we know. Thank you for all you have done for our community every day to keep us safe and teach us how to be better. You have given us a shining example of what not only a good police officer but an overall good person looks like. I wish we could multiply you and show this district how it should be done.
