Its helping them because he isn't letting his foot being amputated get him down.

The main character didn't give up at his lowest and he always seen the good in everything.

Power came into play when she hit her husband in the back of his head with the lamb when he told her he was cheating on her and he is leaving her for another person.

Its corrupting her because it didn't hit her tat she just killed her husband at the moment.
