Born in 1819, Edwin Drake became a popular inventor during this century. He was considered the "Father of the Petroleum Industry" because he was the person who invented the oil drill. This made it easier and faster for workers to drill oil out of wells. Although Mr. drake had only drilled a few oil wells in his lifetime, he became a major public figure. He died in 1880 of health complications.
https://biography.yourdictionary.com/edwin-drake
https://www.encyclopedia.com/environment/energy-government-and-defense-magazines/edwin-l-drake-strikes-oil-titusville-pennsylvania

Elias Howe invents the sewing machine in 1846. It is thought the reason why he decided to invent something like this was because he had a condition which left him weak in one arm. He wanted to create a way that made it easier and faster to sew. At first, it was difficult to persuade the public to buy it. But as people realized this is actually a jack pot, they started to buy them.
https://study.com/academy/lesson/elias-howe-biography-facts.html

George Westinghouse was an american inventor born in 1846. He invented the railway air brake in 1868. This new air brake system would make railroads safer and revolutionized the light and power industries. This is how it works: compressed air presses on a piston to apply the pressure to the brake pad needed to stop the vehicle. Westinghouse died of heary disease at 68 years old.
https://www.biography.com/inventor/george-westinghouse
