Union Goal: To stop Confederate invasions into the Southwest  
Confederate Goal: Was to invade the Southwest
Location: Santa Fe County and San Miguel County
Major Movements: Scurry saw the union approaching and made battle line that included all his men. They attacked and counterattacked until the afternoon. 
Significance: It was a turning point of the war in the New Mexico Territory.  
Success of Union/Confederates: The Union stopped the Confederates from invading into the west. The Confederates were successful because they tried to hold their ground and tried their best.

Confederate Goal: Wanted to stop the union from getting control of Missouri 
Location: Benton County 
Major Movements:  On the night of March 6, General Earl Dorn set out to outflank the Union position near Pea Ridge, dividing his army into two columns. 
Significance: This movement halted the Rebel attack because it killed two of their generals,  General Ben and General James McQueen. They also captured their ranking colonel.

Union Goal: Wanted to force the Confederates out of Chattanooga 
Confederate Goal: To not let the Union force them out of Chattanooga.
Location: Catoosa County and Walker County
Major Movements: In early September, Rosecran scattered his forces in Tennessee and Georgia. Fighting began on the 19th in the morning. Although the rebels tried hard they did not break the Union line, they held until after dark.
Significance: It showed that the Union soldiers were determined to fight.
Success of Union/Confederates: The Union was the most successful because they achieved their goal of forcing the Confederates out.
