A world renowned ritual percussionist Afia Walking Tree is the creator of Spirit Drumz, The DrumMobile, and has brought DrumMedicine to Bioneers, TedWomen, and communities from Oakland to Jamaica. Recognizing the continued hostility of racism and sexism facing Black Womyn under a Trump Regime, Afia is birthing Nanny's Walk as a revolutionary healing space for cisgender, transgender, and gender non-conforming womyn of the African Diaspora.  Nanny's Walk will introduce participants to African Diasporic drumming and permaculture as tools for radical healing, activation, and community restoration. Anchored in EarthBased ritual, Heart Circles, and African Diasporic Storytelling participants will unlock their healing through self-reflection, building connections, and community activation.  A 5 month journey, Nanny's Walk will actively engage participants through a monthly virtual group and individual sessions, radical food sourcing, and culminate with a week long Activation Retreat in Jamaica December 2017.  Participants of Nanny's Wallk will be asked to follow a gluten free, sugar free, and substance free diet while in the program.

How will Nanny's Walk help me manifest my visions of my life and healing?

We will engage in purification and cleansing rituals for the body using plant and herbal medicine, crystal work, water power, and EarthBased magick. 

We will create, set and tend to your purpose through meditative reflection, DrumVoice activation, and embodiment practices.

We will birth a circle of compassion to create new powerful narratives of Black leadership and interdependence. 

We will offer ourselves  time for quiet, silence and sanctuary to unearth hidden trauma, tools of resilience, and pathways to community activation.
