I learned that many people have discriminated and committed overt bias to Islams mostly because they are thought to be terrorists. Many Muslims have been killed and/or harmed because of the overt bias.

From the video and the article I deep dived into gender stereotypes. I learned how people assume what they are like because of their gender. I heard many perspectives from the children in the video, which made me think more about people's thoughts on gender stereotypes. For example: Girls are supposed to only wear dresses and play with dolls, while boys are supposed to be athletic and strong.

I learned just how widespread Islamophobia is, and just how many people think that all Muslims are terrorists.

I would consider affiliating someone with or calling someone a terrorist because of their faith.

I learned that privilege is kind of like a power you have over others in society. Many different parts of your identity can give you privilege, but many parts of your identity can be considered "worse" and make it harder to do certain things. When someone has privilege it might be easier to get something they want, or do something they have been wanting to do.

I learned that accents aren't something to judge a person by or exclude them just because they have an accent. Accents make our community diverse and awesome so we shouldn't make it a space where people with accent's are embarrassed.

People all around the world are affected by antisemitism especially now in 2024. I learned that hate crimes against Jewish people have increased by 40% from 2021 to 2022. Antisemitism needs to end.

I have learned that there is hate against accents according to where they live. If they were born in a Southern Americans countries, they would have an Argentinian accent and might be forced to change it. So I am very thankful and privellaged that I don't have accents, but it is not bad it is just overlooked.

Females have to be skinny and pretty and Males have to be strong and can't show feelings, if they do it have to be anger or be aggressive. These are the gender stereotypes that society has pushed onto younger kids for a very long time. This can be very harmful to people and cause them to hide there true selves to make sure they are perfect.

I learned a lot more about the religion of Islam, and how many people jump to the conclusion that all Muslims are terrorists. I now understand how widely spread islamophobia is, and how discriminated against Muslims are.

I learned that antisemitism is very bad and it can really affect someone in different ways that you do not know about. I also learned what people have done and how surprised I was with what they did. How afraid people were about just wearing and representing being Jewish made them feel scared and like they could not wear it was very surprising to me I never thought of it like that.

I learned that privilege is something that you cannot control. Privilege comes with identity and some identity’s have more power over others, which gives them more privilege. Same with money and wealth. The more money a person has, the more power they possess. No matter what, a less privileged person has to work harder to be successful than a privileged person. It is unfair and not right but that is just how society works.

Im the video I watched about gender stereotypes, they gathered various children and asked them questions such as 'what does it mean to be a boy?' or 'what is the difference between being a girl and being a boy?' A majority of the children said that to be a boy is to be strong, athletic, to never cry, and to play with more 'masculine toys'. This not only shows that these children are taught these stereotypes, but it also shows that these children could possibly grow up to believe that these stereotypes aren't harmful, or that these stereotypes are true.

I learned that white people know that they can do lots of stuff and not have any big issues, while some black people aren't able to have the same freedom around where they live, and I basically believe that's a connect to white privilege.

The basic issues that confront us are the same across the world. The basic human needs for stability, shelter, happiness, food, love, healthcare, and freedom remain the same for all people. The access to these necessities varies based on the amount of societal acceptance or discrimination toward different groups of historically marginalized people. Not having to worry about your safety in public is a privilege. Being able to marry who you love is a privilege. We're surrounded by privilege all day and the first step to confronting it is acknowledging it.

I learned that regional accents are based on your nationality but largely how the language is spoken. This is typically shown in their accents from their born nationality which means they may pronounce something incorrectly and some will make fun of them.
