Songs of war

This song changed my views about war, I've grown up in a family that supports war, and thinks that it's necessary, and I haven't really questioned it, because for 15 years I've always thought if countries have a disagreement they go to war. Gun's and Roses helped me realize there is nothing 'civil' or 'peaceful' about war, tons of people die over something that could be solved in a one on one conversation between the 2 (or more) disagreeing people, there is no need to bring in other people or involve other people. I understand the concept of being a soldier is risking your life and fighting for your country, and I can't really understand why people would want to do that, but now i'm not really finding a reason on why we have soldiers in the first place (other than the fact that we go to war because it's traditional and we need people to fight). All in all, there's honestly no need for it and our world leaders should be more mature and not resort to war instantly.

This doesn't really align with my thoughts. War is a bad thing and kills a lot of people, but personally this one I feel like it is okay to glorify it a little bit. Because some people were drafted against their will, so we shouldn't fully glorify this, but it is a very important moment in America's history and it deserves to be shown to help remember and honor those who died, but we have to remember the bad things too or at least keep them in the back of our mind. And this painting kind of lies a bit, there's a black person and these people look comfortable with their location, but this was a segregated time, black people didn't participate in this, and people were taken against their will. I feel like this should be fully accurate, I have mixed feelings

I think this movie shows the reality of war and how bad but good it can be. It's a very REAL movie, it shows a lot, not in a fantasizing way but it shows the good and bad times of what war can bring. I do agree with the ideas presented, I think it shows how horrifying and scary it is but how it creates bonds and can bring out the best (and worst) in people. It gave me things to consider because I always assumed all soldiers were tough and strong and determined and had patriotism coursing through their veins, but this movie proved me wrong, and it showed me how even in the army where they all seem like fighting robots, fear is a thing and they can have different personalities.

It shows the beauty and the horrifying details of war and how easy it is to base your thoughts of war off of stereotypes. Before this lesson I thought war was just bad and gross and a blood bath, and yes war does include those traits, but it also can be a beautiful thing, whether its from the bonds made when fighting, or the landscape surrounding the battle field or the feeling of victory, war does have/bring some good things, it's not all good things but some god things, like a 30/70 ratio.

This aligns with my belief of war and the bad things that come with it. The fear and longing to escape and go home, I feel like this captures my opinion very well. Even though the guy isn't dead he is still very scared and is being tortured, which is a sad reality of war
