         <title>Algebra I Jigsaws</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I conducted research on jigsaw collaborative groups and I am quite interested in implementing this strategy in my Algebra I classroom!&nbsp; Jigsaw activities are great for students because they learn about a topic, become experts, share what they know with their group members, come to consensus, and teach their findings to the entire class in an enjoyable way.&nbsp; Jigsaw activities also function as quick checks for class content understanding, and can be used for the development of critical thinking, problem solving, social, and citizenship skills. &nbsp; For instance, teachers can rely on what they are hearing from the students’ collaborative groups to refute topical misconceptions, and at the end of the activity the instructor can test the students on what they have learned.&nbsp; I highly believe that jigsaw activities are more efficient if educators allow the students to choose their preferred topic in which they will gain expertise.&nbsp; This way educators will be differentiating their instruction and the students will be held more accountable for mastering subject matter and managing their own learning.&nbsp; Below is a video about jigsaw collaborative groups.&nbsp; <br><a href="https://youtu.be/5EJV0CMEPk4">https://youtu.be/5EJV0CMEPk4</a><br>For more information on the subject please visit.&nbsp; <a href="http://www.muskingum.edu/~cal/database/general/group.html#Jigsaw">http://www.muskingum.edu/~cal/database/general/group.html#Jigsaw</a>.</div><div>Reference&nbsp;</div><div>Millis, B.
