Ahmed (13)
Ahmed lived in a poor village in Africa. He was only 13 when he made the difficult decision to come to the Canaries because his situation was too bad and the opportunities were nonexistent. Unfortunately, he could not count on the support of his parents who were against his migration. He worked three years prior to earn enough money to pay for the trip. All his savings were spent to be able to board the boat. 

Tori (14)
Tori and his brother were on a bigger ship with 59 other people who had the same intentions of leaving their country. All kinds of people were aboard: moms, children, handicapped…  . During the trip, Tori was not feeling good due to the circumstances because the boat was dangling a lot, making them feel dizzy. They were lacking water, as well as food supplements and medicine. The trip was even harder due to mechanical issues with the boat such as flooding, leaking, shortage of fuel… .
Even though he was surrounded by death, pain and agony, Tori still managed to survive the hardships and arrive safely.

Abdullah (16)
Abdullah was 16 when he arrived on the island. Since he was all alone he was immediately facing problems that a sixteen year old boy should not be facing.  Thankfully he was provided a place to stay with other young immigrants in a youth center, nevertheless, his struggles did not end there. The language barrier was still present, he did not have access to education nor money. He was often met with disrespectful people who judged him only based on his background. But that did not discourage him and he managed to go to school, learn Spanish and gain more knowledge.

CONCLUSION.
The three boys met at IES Santo Tomás de Aquino which gave them the opportunity to share their personal experiences with the Erasmus exchange group of students that understood how hard it must be to have left everything they owned behind without knowing what their future would hold.
