Oobleck is like quicksand. Watch me make a thick quicksand which melts without pressure because it is a non Newtonian fluid which doesn't follow newton's law of viscosity.

Quicksand is very dangerous but this is fun to play with and drip down without stress. When you slap the cornstarch quicksand, you force the long starch molecules closer together. The impact of this force traps the water between the starch chains to form a semirigid structure. When the pressure is released, the corn- starch flows again.
