I myself am a lover of Google sheets, but had no idea so many others were available for students. Will keep in mind for my future courses!

I think I like the idea of using Google Forms to worksheets. I've always been a fan, because of how easy it is to pool data, and I've used it before in my class. I'm interested in seeing how I can inculcate it into online proceedings, where I can use it to assess student understanding or how they feel the class is going for them, especially for mid-semester feedback.

This module had A LOT of information in it and all of it was exciting when thinking about my own online courses. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed as to how I should choose which activities/methods to incorporate in my own courses. Also, I think Padlet is a great tool to engage with students and work through any questions/concerns.

I was surprised that there are so many online tools that we can use for designing our online courses. It will be useful for us to use variety of tools appropriately based on learning objectives of each course.

I never thought to use Google forms as a clicker analog. I think this is a great idea because it really improves the depth to which instructors can delve to determine if students are developing content mastery. Multiple choice questions using clickers are really limited in their abilities when you compare it to the capabilities of google Forms.

I require students to include a "Dear Reader" note with draft for peer review, which is a sort of self-assessment that tells their peer where they're struggling. I've had mixed results with these, but the Peer- and Self-Assessment surveys look like they'd do a much better job. The self-assessment one has specific questions, so I could make sure students communicate what they should. The multiple choice parts are a great additions.

I also like the Task Form. My students have an assignment due next week that this one would have been very helpful for. Ah, hindsight.

They all look fantastic, while the only problem is how I can effectively apply them to my own course. (Anyway, I like this post-it type of commenting module. I've never used or seen padlet before.)

I felt like I really had my head wrapped around the general examples proposed by Miller, but then I came here and...well...this padlet component is really neat! I also think I recognize some colleagues on the map example -- I'm not really sure how I could use that in a writing composition course save for as an ice breaker, but it seems really interesting. I've actually used Google surveys for in-person classes, but I think they would be a great tool for teaching online as well.

I feel excited but also a little overwhelmed. I feel excited because there are a variety of formats of self-assessment can be use in real online classes, which I cannot imagine before. However, for the same reason, I also feel overwhelmed. It might be because I saw different formats at the same time. I believe the format should have a best match with the content, which can maximize the learning effects.

My overarching feeling is one of excitement - once I get into the actual preparation of creating activities and then helping students navigate them is a little bit stressful - but I have found that the prep and follow up with using online self-assessment tools has been engaging and helpful for my students. From these examples I am most excited to use Sutori and had not thought about using Google Map-Making for student-created images, which I can imagine them using for for presentations and other purposes.

I'm pretty excited to learn about all the possible tools available to my class and myself as a teacher. I think depending on the course I am teaching certain tools would works better than others. For example, Google Map Making would be perfect for my current English 102 class. Right now we are writing about Uncovered/Discovered Research place based assignment. It allows for the assignment to be even more personalized to their research or "me"-search.
