1) I really do not need one specific thing other than time to learn Lucy. Just time to get through the learning process. My mini lessons seem to be taking longer than the recommended ten minutes. After getting more comfortable and getting more experience I am sure I will get better at shortening up the mini lessons and allow students more time to work.

2) One literacy success was being able to witness a student who cannot stand to write, listen and actually have the mini lesson transfer to the writing. Was a great win for both of us! Can see the student begin to connect.

1) The thing that I think I could benefit the most from right now is time. I feel like I am spending an enormous amount of time getting ready and prepared for reading/writing each day. I know that in time it will get better. Also, keeping some of the students focus while doing the mini lesson.
2) I have seen their stamina for reading increase so much. It is fun watching them devour their books. Watching them write and the things they are including in their writing (quotations, expression, exaggeration) has been so wonderful to see. They are writing multiple page stories now compared to the few sentences at the beginning.

1. I'm finding that time is an issue! Like Jeff stated, my mini lessons are taking way longer than expected but I would expect that will improve with practice. Also I'm about a day ahead and even then I feel like I'm still about a foot above the water.

2.Stamina has improved dramatically in the first few weeks. Next I plan to work on reading response journals and have them include more information as they respond!
