         <description><![CDATA[<div>Monsignor Ricardo García García was born in the city of Lima on March 13, 1955. He is the son of the architect Julio García-Baudouin and Leonor García Quiñones, now deceased. He is the second of eight siblings. He studied in Lima at Champagnat College (1960-1971). He studied Engineering (1972-1978), graduated as an Industrial Engineer from the University of Piura in 1979. Since 1974 he is a member of Opus Dei. His ecclesiastical studies were carried out in Rome, at the Opus Dei Seminary of the Prelature. He was ordained a priest by Pope John Paul II on June 12, 1983.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>He is a Doctor of Theology from the University of Navarra-Spain (1985). Before his appointment, he had developed extensive pastoral work with young university students and schoolchildren in Lima, Piura, and Arequipa. He has been a professor of Moral Theology at the University of Piura and the Studium Generale del Opus Dei. He has also dedicated himself to spiritual assistance and has preached retreats to priests in various dioceses in the Central and South Andean regions. Between 2000 and 2005 he collaborated in the spiritual direction of the San Jerónimo de Arequipa Seminary, the city in which he lived until his episcopal appointment. Named Bishop-Prelate of Yauyos-Cañete by his Holiness Juan Pablo took canonical possession on December 4, 2005, at the “Madre del Amor Hermoso” Shrine in Cañete.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Monsignor García is the fourth prelate of Yauyos-Cañete-Huarochirí. Previously they were Archbishop Ignacio María de Orbegoso, now deceased; Bishop Luis Sánchez Moreno Lira and Bishop Juan Antonio Ugarte Pérez. These last two also participated in the ceremony along with more than twenty bishops and about one hundred priests. Bishop Passigato encouraged him to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors, as a sure way to make a good decision.</div>]]></description>
