I 'm celebrating Eid Ul Fitri to celebrating or to remark the end of Ramadhan, the month of fasting for the Muslim. It' like serve a reward to me after observing fast in the bless month Ramadhan. As in Islam’s other holy festival, Eid al-Adha, it is distinguished by the performance of communal prayer (salat) at daybreak on its first day. Another than that, it's a time of official receptions and private visits, when friends greet one another, presents are given, new clothes are worn, and the graves of relatives are visited. The main reason I like to visit my other friend or family because to get Angpau from them. but lately the number of angpau are getting decrease because I'm getting older huhu...beside that I also like to eat many kinds of food during the festival. Some of the famous food that be always serve in the festival is Ketupat, rendang and Dodol.

It is like a reward after fasting for a whole month, and it is also the only time that we get to spend with our family members. Usually, my mom cook Rendang on the eve of the eid. We would set up a mini portable stove outside the house as making the Rendang would cause a lot of mess. On that day, I will help my mom to reheat the Rendang and other meals, such as lemang and ketupat. We will start the festival by greeting. This is the time when we confess our gratitude and wrongs throughout the year. It’s the most important thing to do every year.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is only celebrated once a year and also to forgive each other. It is also to strengthen the relationship between family and friends.Traditional Malay dishes, such as rendang ketupat and lemang is very special because for me it is one of the important dishes during Eid because without the dishes the day would be ruined. It is also special because this is the chance for kids to have a lot of money by earning "duit raya" from their family members. On the morning of Eid, all Muslim men will go to the mosque to do prayer together. Then after back from mosque, we start with the traditional custom of seeking forgiveness with our family and friends. We also visit our relatives and neighborhood

HARI RAYA PUASA

Hari Raya Puasa is not just about the food or visiting relatives who live far away from us. It is more than that, the actual reason was it marks the end of Ramadan according to the islamic holy month of fasting from dawn to sunset. However, Hari Raya Puasa is also a celebration of faith and gratitude for Muslims who have completed a month-long spiritual journey of fasting, praying, charity giving and self-reflection. It is also a celebration of forgiveness and reconciliation for those who have wronged others or been wronged by others.

The main tradition of Hari Raya Puasa which is really fascinating to me was ‘balik kampung!’, which in other ways means returning to one’s hometown. Which was always a tradition that I will look for as it was only once a year. There was a time when my great grandmother was still alive, the whole family was obliged to return home to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa together with family and relatives. Relatively speaking, we will cook iftar dishes together which are so cool and delicious. The most unforgettable memory was going to Bazar Ramadan with my ‘Atok Busu’ together with the other relatives to buy some desserts. The most wanted dessert in our family was Tepung Pelita which had coconut flavour on top and the flavour of pandan leaves at the bottom of it. How cool it was!

There are many ways to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa and it depends on your own family tradition. As for mine, the first thing will always be the food. During Hari Raya Puasa, our family’s main dishes were Rendang Ayam Kampung, which was made by my grandmother and Rendang Ayam Bandar was made by my uncle. It might be normal for a certain family to have Rendang on their table but for our family this is the must dish to put on the menu. Other than that, the Rendang Ayam Kampung was the most popular dish among our family members and relatives. Some of them will ask for the recipe from my grandmother but she refuses to give it to them cause she’s got no recipe in a book it is only she remembered them.

Next, this is one of the common traditions that can make the kids go crazy and it is ‘Duit Raya’. It was one commonly done by everyone celebrating Hari Raya Puasa. This is usually given by elders to children or younger relatives in green packets as a symbol of blessing and generosity. But, today's era green envelope doesn’t mean that we will get green colour envelopes, well there’s a lot more colourful and funny envelopes which makes the kids feel happy during Hari Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The last one will be ‘beraya’ which also means visiting relatives and friends during Hari Raya. On the first day of Hari Raya in the morning, all muslims will go to the mosque for a special prayer which is called Solat Raya followed by visiting the cemetery to pray for their departed loved ones' health. Then, we will visit our parents if we live separately to seek forgiveness and express gratitude. After that, the finale we will visit our neighbours, friends, and other relatives to share joy and happiness.

I wish we can all still gather and cherish all moments together even after the death of my great grandmother and few other relatives. That’s all from me, hope you enjoy reading my sharing! Bye

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, is celebrated to mark the beginning of the traditional Chinese calendar year. It is a time to honor deities and ancestors, as well as a period for family reunions. The festival is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and is a time for reflection, renewal, and hope for good fortune in the coming year. I think one of the most important festival in a year is chinese new year. Firstly, before celebrating it, I will clean and declutter to make it spick and span as homes are thoroughly cleaned before the New Year to sweep away bad luck and make way for good fortune. My home will also decorate with some traditional decorations since homes are adorned with red decorations, symbolizing good luck and happiness. The red colour is prevalent throughout the festival. A vibrant and energetic performance such as lion and dragon dance are common during Chinese New Year, symbolizing the warding off of evil spirits and bringing good luck. It is also a time when families come together to celebrate, share meals, and strengthen bonds. During the eve of chinese new year, families gather for a lavish reunion dinner. Lighting fireworks and firecrackers is a traditional way to drive away evil spirits and welcome the new year with a bang. The most thing that what I like is red envelopes(ang pau) containing money for children and unmarried adults as a gesture of good luck and blessings
