Looking back: I thought she told some incredible stories, such as being a national champion skater or moving to the US with her husband – which all seem so pivotal to her life.  I respect her feeling that she got a lot of motivation from her mom trying to make moves to better herself – that’s definitely something I identify with           

Vision statements: Definitely knew the things which mattered to her, especially the location and specific feelings.  Very specific about things like air pollution, being close to family, etc.  I really respect the goals that she has and think she has a pretty clear vision to get there.

 

My hope for you is that you can really embrace the loftier goals you have and really push for them!  You seem so passionate and driven, and I think you’ll be able to do anything you achieve, making a positive difference along the way. 

My first impression of you is that you’re friendly and adventurous (and inspire me to lead an adventurous life as well!)

 

Looking back: I appreciate the importance you place on family, and, especially given how important family is, I really admire the courage you had to choose to come to Kellogg. I think that your stories can inspire so many people, especially women, to be bold and strive to live the life they want to create. 

Vision: I thought that your vision was beautiful and balanced across family, health, and your passions. Your vision also, I think, balanced prioritizing your own needs and the needs of those you care about. I can really picture you having a laughter filled life with your family.

Looking Back
I found your story with your mom and the other women in your life driving you to be courageous and to want more for yourself to be one which I hoped more people could hear, and that it is, one day, the beginning of the story of your successful career cleaning up the air.

Vision
Health for yourself and the world is of great importance, and your drive has pushed you to helping solve the climate crisis through addressing air pollution through either your primary job or as a non-profit you work with.  I aspire to have a home like the one you describe for yourself—close to nature and spaces for learning and fitness, among others.

Something Fun – What member of the Bauhaus are you?
Walter Gropius. The founder of the Bauhaus and major proponent of its foundational theories. These included the principles of: design should follow the laws of nature; “air, light, sun”; smart / efficient use of resources. Your drive to push for more and be courageous, and passion for eliminating air pollution—a resource we all share—led me to pick the visionary founder of the Bauhaus for you. 

Looking back exercise: As I reflect on our time together, I am in awe of the courage you displayed in choosing to come to Kellogg despite the challenges you faced. Your stories of breaking family and cultural norms to pursue your dreams are truly inspiring. What is even more remarkable to me is despite all the challenges, how you have managed to stay deeply connected to your family, treating Shivek's family as your own. Your ability to balance family values with your ambition with grace and dedication is truly admirable.

Vision: It comes as no surprise that your vision encompasses a beautiful blend of family, health, and passion. Your unwavering commitment to health and wellness is commendable. I have witnessed firsthand how you have made conscious choices to prioritize not only your well-being but also that of your loved ones. Your dedication to creating a healthy and fulfilling life is truly inspiring.

Our friendship has come a long way from our first interaction and I honestly cannot imagine my life without you and Shivek. You are an incredible friend, and I am grateful to have you in my life. I really truly hope that we end up in the same city after graduation.

 

Looking back: It was so moving to hear how your personal life impacts how you view the world and things. Your family story about growing up and finding courage is really great, and it shows in how you decided to go to to business school. You talking about losing your grandparents and that makes you focus on health was really moving, and I appreciated how you said how you have to also think about how others are impacted by your health choices and how you live your life. I hadn’t fully thought about that but its really inspiring. 

 

Vision: I am inspired and excited for you that you are now realizing you want to live life on your terms, not other peoples terms, and think about what excites YOU. I appreciate the focus on balance and staying close to nature, keeping close ties with family and friends. I am excited by your passion to improve air quality in India! And I see the health theme run through and its really exciting.
