Who Am I?

I am Angel Mae D. Bastillas. I am 20 years old and seek peace in every place I go. I grew up in Toledo City, Cebu, with my grandparents, and with them, I got to experience a lot of things, like planting and harvesting crops. During grade school, I rarely go to school, like in those 5 days I was only present for 2 days. I dunno, I just got a motto before, which was 'I'll take this opportunity to be absent as much as I can because if I'm in my high school year I couldn't be absent anymore' but I still pass projects and assignments, and shockingly, I am still one of the awarded students, and I haven't gotten a medal until I graduated from Capt.Claudio Elementary School. In my high school years, I promised my mom. I said to her, 'Ma ig high school nako dala nako permi sige nakag sakas stage kay ma honor nako permi' and I kept my promise and that was my proudest accomplishment in life. I was a consistent honor student from grades 7 to 12 at Toledo National Vocational School. And I am now currently studying at Cebu Technological University Tuburan Campus, taking a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, which is a challenge for me and a challenge accepted.

I love reading books about life or a wattpad stories where I get to learn some lessons and I also got the chance to apply those in daily life. Reading allows me to imagine what I understood and no ones gonna judge me. Reading calms my mind. I'm interested in everything related to nature, it's fascinating how the leaves of a tree goes everywhere by the help of the wind, how it can freely go according to the winds will, just how life happens each day, unpredictable.

Challenges of mine

Back when I was way younger, I got to experience how hard life is. There were family crises that I had to face because I didn't have a choice; they were thrown at me without warning, and I've passed them successfully, which made me who I am today: a fighter, braver this time. It shaped me to be a better person, to take life seriously when it's needed, and to have a chance to be childish when it's not needed to be serious since life shouldn't only be full of difficulties. Lesson learned the hard way is to choose wisely who you'll be marrying because your child can't choose who will be their father. And if you can't, don't marry.

Future goals and aspirations

I am a picky eater; if I see that it doesn't taste good, my mouth can't accept it. I don't eat veggies; it doesn't taste good to me. I tried and tried, but unfortunately, the only veggie that is accepted in my mouth is the eggplant and that's a fun fact about me. So, I made it my aspiration that I need to be rich so that I could live since, at this age and maybe in a few years, I have this mindset of not marrying and having kids. I just couldn't imagine from what I've been through and having kids is a big responsibility that I can't handle. I saw a post which content is: If I can't be rich, what's my purpose on this earth? And it's true that if I can't be rich, why am I striving to keep going? I just needed to be rich and successful enough to be content by having me travel, treat myself right, and get my hair and nails done. Eat foods at fancy restaurants, buy things I want—everything that I want—and I can't get those if I won't be rich, so I need to do well in school. I need to be wise enough and smart enough to work hard enough to achieve that goal. What is that goal? Yeah, to be rich.
