It was a hot summer afternoon, and I was driving home in my truck when suddenly... SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE!! It was an EARTHQUAKE! First, I looked around to make sure I was safe. The palm trees were swaying in the sky like the blow-up guy outside of a car dealership. I thought, "They are going to fall over!"  My truck was moving like it was on a wave in the ocean. Later on, when the earthquake ended, I moved my truck to a safe location. I looked back to check on my son, who was sleeping in his car seat. I was so relieved that he did not feel the earthquake. A terrifying feeling came over me now, realizing that I was now responsible for this little baby! Finally, I drove home. All the other cars were also moving along. I didn't see any damage along the streets. Everyone was behaving as if nothing had happened. When I arrived home, I checked my house. I felt grateful that we were safe and the house was fine. When I got up my mom said my top lip was swollen. I wanted to see it so I went to the living room. We have a mirror there and I looked and my top lip was so swollen and purple! If you ask, "Where are your mom and dad?" Well, they were out because they had to do something at their job. Now, at 11:50, me and my sister felt it! We screamed and yes, we were scared! By the way, it was 3.2, but it was long. But now here comes the funny part. My brother came out and I could tell he was screaming too! He yelled, "Get under the table!" We did what we were told. My brother dropped to the floor. He was going to get under the table to, but he stopped. It ended. He said "Well, I did my job," and he got back into the shower. It was 12:00 am. Suddenly, everything was shaking and... CRASH!! a glass cup slid off the table and shattered to the ground and the table tilted down with the cup. The earthquake was so strong that it made my tablet slide to the ground. I dropped my plate and ran outside. While my family was coming outside as well, the earthquake was still going on and my neighbors were screaming for help! They shouted, "HELPPPP!!! OUR BABY IS LOST IN THE HOUSE!! My mom ran inside their house just to save the baby and she made it out successfully. The earthquake stopped, but one of our cars tilted down and crashed! We had to get it repaired and we had to pay for our house damage. A lot of things were shattered. But my mom told me, "At least we're all save. We'll figure this out together." I told her, "Ok...mommy." And it took a long time to fix all of the damage, but we did it. And I felt so happy to be alive. The house started to shake and then I knew there an EARTHQUAKE! The house SHOOK so much it felt like it was about to tip over. I heard a loud crash and it was over. But the car was moving like crazy, it was so scary! There was another car next to us, and it looked like it was going to fall over! BUT they didn't so we were okay. The SCARY part was that we were in the middle of the street! We thought there was a crack in the middle of the road, so my dad checked to see if there was a crack, and we were right! There was! Then we stopped at the store to get some snacks because it was going to be a long way. My dad and I went inside the store to get the snacks and my 4 cousins stayed in the car. When we were in line about to pay it stared to shake! My dad held my hand while all the stuff fell off the shelf! It stopped and we paid and ran to the car to ask my cousins if they were okay. They were, so it was all good! Our family was about to get to the spot we were going to camp at, and yes, they left us  (🙄) because we went a little late. They went at 7:00 am and we went at 10:00 am (0_0)... Yes, I know it's late, but that's not the point. The point is that we were all fine. We called our other family members to make sure they were okay and they were. They said, "There are a lot of rocks on the floor, but we're okay." Later on that day we got there, and we were all sitting down when... another earthquake happened! My grandma fell off her chair. I helped her but she got a little cut. We were all okay. And that all that happened. Some people could have died because it was a big one! Some houses where destroyed. We went back to sleep and never thought of it again.
