In my previous school (GEMS ROYAL DUBAI), we had an app that quizzes us on each library book, you simply log on and type the book you read. You will get 5-20 questions (based on the difficulty) that will see if the person taking the quiz has read the book properly, the answers can be seen by teachers too. This opens up tons of new competition possibilities if the website can count and keep track of their words read in a book. Every time a student reaches a million words, they get a certificate and a shout out on social media. I myself have participated, reading over 3 million words, it really is a blast!

Secondly, I would like to do something about maths, particularly times tables. Also picked up from my previous school, this idea can help with maths, get a competitive spirit and (most importantly) reduce the use of screens. The idea I have in mind is called Cracking Times Tables. Something like a weekly assessment. Once or twice every week, a sheet is given starting from level 1. There is a timer of choice by the teacher and a rate of difficulty depending on the level. If the person finishes all questions and gets them all correct in time, they progress onto the next level, if not they do the same level next time. You can even use this to put other operations at times. This can raise up the competitive spirits without use of gadgets and can open up possibilities for more awards and competitions. Every time a student reaches level 20 ( or higher, depending on opinion) they get a certificate and a shout out on social media. I have also tried hard on this and reached up to level 18.
