         <description><![CDATA[<div>Federal legislation in 1946s significantly increases school counseling training and the number of positions. <br><br>George Barton Act was passed, which provided funds for services to be used in schools such as maintenance of state programs, supervision, training, salaries and necessary travel of counselors within the schools. <br><br><strong>This is the most critical point in Counseling History because funds were finally available, opening opportunities. Also what was being fought for was finally being put into practice and "updating" the knowledge of those individuals already in the profession.  </strong></div>]]></description>
