Lonnie and Lili lost their parents in a fire, they had to go to a fostor home. Lonnie got a fostor parent first her name was Mrs. Edna. Lili got her fostor mother a little while after Lonnie got his. Mrs. Edna adopted Lonnie but not Lili, so they weren't with eachother at all times anymore. Lili and Lonnie couldnt really spend time together that much because he would have to walk and it was far. It got really hard on Lonnie so he would be upset all the time and would be miserable. His teacher at school tried to help him everyday sometimes she helped and sometimes she didn't. Lili gave Lonnie a bible to read and Lonnie read it, so Lili was very happy because she wanted him to read it! At the end of the story Lonnie and Lili went to camp together and got to be with eachother for a while. Lonnie and Lili not being able to see eachother was hard for Lonnie because he missed his little sister, it was hard for both of them. Lonnie was so used to being with his little sister all the time that it was hard not being with her. Another social issue is Lili and Lonnie being in foster homes and losing their parents. Those were the three social issues in this story.

What I mean by that is in the story Lonnie always felt like he was alone because he didn't have his little sister or his parents. Sometimes I can feel that way when I really miss someone. It taught me to always know that I have someone even if it's not the person I want or need. The book Locomotion can help people feel better because at first Lonnie was alone and really just wanted his parents and little sister, but he got through it when people would try to make him happy and feel better. As he tried to get through it he got to spend a lot of time with his little sister Lili at camp.
