I created The Magic Backpack with the idea that English lessons can be a doorway into imagination, curiosity, and exploration. I’ve always believed that young children learn best when they feel safe, excited, and involved. I love turning everyday lessons into playful adventures—through songs, storytelling, crafts, and simple real-life tasks. My goal is to nurture not just language skills, but also a love for learning and confidence in communication.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, knitting, and walking by the sea. I'm thrilled to meet educators who share the same energy and care for their students, and I look forward to seeing what our little explorers will discover through this magical project!

I’m honored to be part of the THE MAGIC BACKPACK eTwinning project. Through this collaboration, my goal is to teach the four language skills listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a more motivating and engaging way, using Web 2.0 tools and modern technology. My name is Gülcan Peker. I am an English teacher at Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Primary School in Afyonkarahisar/Turkey. I've been working in this wonderful profession for 15 years. I love collecting pictures from different countries, hiking and discovering hidden nature and trying traditional recipes.

My name is Valentina Hangu and I am from Romania. I am a teacher since 1999. I am working in a public school as an English Teacher and I teach Religion, too . I love working with children and I also dedicate time to extracurricular activities. I participated with the students in various competitions that helped them become more confident and competitive. English is their favorite subject and whenever they have the opportunity, they practice English through songs and games. Just last year, I participated with the students in 3 etwinning projects that helped them make new friends and improve their English skills.

I like travelling, knitting, reading and practicing English in communication.

My name is Titei Cristina, from Romania, Timis county.

I have been teaching for almost 10 years now in the private and public section of education. I have been a kindergarten teacher, a primary teacher and an English teacher in all of these years. I love working with young children as I believe they are at the most wonderful period of a person's life. I love observing how young children evolve and bloom, how their brains progress and the results that they have attained.

I'm very happy to be involved in my fourth eTwinning project as I want the children from my class to experience different cultural interactions. These projects have been very well perceived by my students and with a lot of enthusiasm.

In my free time I like reading or listening to books, painting, crafting and going on hikes.

I'm thrilled to participate on these international projects as I get to encounter different educators, different personalities or vast ideologies.

My name is Katerina Velli, and I'm an English teacher at the 30th Primary School in the centre of Thessaloniki, Greece. I've been dedicated to education for 21 years, and I love teaching young learners.

This is my third active year in the eTwinning community, and I'm thrilled to be part of the Magic Backpack project. I strive to make language learning come alive through creativity and playful adventures. I'm passionate about incorporating technology and digital tools into the classroom, utilizing innovative techniques, and enhancing teaching methods. I've implemented three eTwinning projects in the past as a participant and a coordinator. I believe eTwinning projects “open a window” within the school classroom. I've also participated in a STEM+/Robotics event. I hold a Master’s Degree in Incorporating Information and Communication Technology in Education (University of Macedonia). Currently, I am a PhD candidate in UoM (Thessaloniki).

This is my first time participating in an international eTwinning project, and I was kindly invited by my former high school colleague, Natalia, to join the project "The Magic Backpack." I accepted with great enthusiasm, believing that this experience will bring added value both to me and to my students.

I love children and are always eager to implement different projects with students from foreign countries. I strongly believe that learning a foreign language can open students’ minds and give them valuable tools to discover the world and connect with people from different cultures.

In my classes, I always try to use a variety of teaching methods, because I think it’s important to keep lessons dynamic and engaging.

My name is Roxana Luiziana Bobeică and I’m an English teacher at Școala Gimnazială ”Spirea Sorescu”, Zamfira, Romania. I am 44 years old and I have been teaching English for 22 years. I’m passionate about helping students connect language learning with real-life communication. I love reading, watching films and long walks in nature.

I strongly believe that language is more than just grammar and vocabulary – it's a bridge between cultures, people and ideas. That’s why I’m excited to take part in this eTwinning project because I know it will give my students the amazing opportunity not only to collaborate internationally, but also to improve their English skills.

My name is Matthieu Girard, but you can call me Matt :-) . I work as a primary school teacher in a in a small rural village in France. The school is made of four classes and approximately 80 pupils.

I'm 41 years old and I've been teaching for 15 years. I'm not an English teacher but I got involved in the Etwinning adventure about 10 years ago and Erasmus projects a little while later. Each experience has been a great source of motivation in my job. Meeting colleagues from other countries was a wonderful opportunity both professionally and personally. My wish is to share this with my students so they can feel the same way.

I am an English teacher at a school in Turkey. I work at a relatively small school in a small city at the centre of Anatolia. I'm 42 years old and I've been teaching for 20 years. This is my 13th year of teaching primary school students, and I really enjoy spending time with them.
