I have just finished my country visit and it was truly an unforgettable experience. As I immersed myself in nature, I felt a sensation that is hard to put into words. Walking towards the pond, I could not help but feel like I was in a fairy tale with the lush greenery surrounding me. The sky was equally mesmerizing, with the stunning orange hues of sunset adding to its beauty.

It served as a reminder that nature has a lot of beauty and wonder waiting to be discovered if we break free from our routines. By adopting a nature-centered approach to education, we can change the lives of countless children. I am excited to explore this connection further and discover more amazing experiences in the natural world.

"The Tricolor Sky !"

As I stood at the nature reserve, my senses were immediately overwhelmed by the breathtaking beauty of the scene before me. I was struck by the stunning tricolor sky that had been painted by the setting sun. The trees, standing tall and proud, were outlined against the twilight, their branches reaching up towards the heavens like fingers of fire. The blackness that surrounded them only added to the eerie atmosphere, as if they were guarding some ancient secret.

The memory of the mutton bird dance in session 2 resurfaces, where the skilled choreographers used the spotlight to highlight specific movements and elements of the performance with precision (Bangarra Education Resources Mutton Bird, n.d.). Similarly, the sun is descending gradually, painting the sky with vibrant hues of orange and pink while the trees take on a dark, dramatic silhouette against the backdrop.

As early educators, we can inspire children to explore the natural world and learn in new and exciting ways. By fostering an environment that encourages exploration and inquiry, we can help children develop a deep appreciation for the environment and a lifelong passion for learning.

" Singing with Ducks"

Whilst observing a congregation of ducks swimming and enjoying their surroundings, I was captivated by the rhythmical melody they were producing. Their synchronized movements and playful interactions created a mesmerizing rhythm, which filled the air with a beautiful melody. I found myself joining in and singing along to the popular nursery rhyme, "Five Little Ducks....". The experience was invigorating, as the harmonious atmosphere and playful energy of the ducks uplifted my spirits and brought a sense of tranquility to my mind.

This recalled the teachings of Victor Wooten in session 1 of his video titled "Music as Language". Wooten viewed music as a form of communication that stems from one's surroundings (Wooten, 2013). Playing an instrument is just one aspect of this art form, it is more about the way one conveys one's emotions. Similarly, the ducks were expressing their jubilance through that melody.

Educators should empower children to express emotions freely in any language, including music. By encouraging musical exploration, children can articulate their feelings effectively while developing their musical abilities.

As I was exploring the reserve, a stunning bird caught my eye in motion. It was remarkable to observe as it roamed barefooted, engaging with the environment by touching and sensing the bark, grass, dirt, and feeling the breeze. I felt compelled to join in, and like the bird, I too walked barefoot and engaged all my senses to experience the moment. The beautiful melody of the birds and the sensation of the bark under my feet made me feel truly connected to that place.

This instance is supported by the research (Wilson, 2018, pp. 18–32) that children require more than just equipment - they necessitate chances to explore, experiment, manipulate, create, and gain knowledge about the natural world.

As educators, it is our responsibility to introduce children to the wonders of the natural world. By providing them with a sensory experience, we can ignite their curiosity and imagination, setting the stage for a lifetime of learning.

"Listening to Hidden Stories"

As I stood in awe before this majestic tree, it beckoned me towards an enchanting world hidden beyond its branches. As I approached, I noticed that the tree was not alone. Other exquisite trees surrounded it, each whispering tales of the land's creator as they swayed in the gentle breeze. The rustling of their leaves created a soothing melody that blended seamlessly with the chirping of birds, as if the feathered creatures were in perfect harmony with the trees' stories. It was a magical moment, and I felt as though I had been transported to a different realm altogether.

This recalls Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr's description of "Dadirri", which showcases a remarkable trait of the Aboriginal people - their capacity for profound, introspective listening and serene, mindful awareness (MiriamRoseFoundation, 2017).

When working with young children, it is essential to listen attentively and avoid hurrying them. By deeply listening and immersing them in the natural world, educators can gain a greater understanding of a child's requirements and offer fitting assistance.
