To do this I created a human mouth in the stomach of a teddy bear. I did this to create an uncanny body. A big influence for this piece was a toy called a "Fuggler", which is a stuffed animal that is made to look very ugly. That’s what they all say right? It’s right up there with majoring in philosophy in terms of getting a “real job”. Growing up I always excelled in STEM subjects. Math came pretty easy to me. And that would be great if I actually liked math. But turns out, I hate math. I hate math, and biology, and computer science, and physics, and everything that could get me a well-paying job. My family hoped and prayed for me to be a doctor, or a lawyer, or anything but an artist.

I hoped the same thing for a very long time. I left my major undecided for the first year of college. But I quickly realized that I didn’t like anything besides art. Art is the only thing that I could picture myself doing everyday, forever. So that’s what this piece is meant to represent. How art is my whole world, and how the whole world is art.
