The sequence that we chose is about being afraid of not fitting in, concerning the whole family and their thoughts. Not only given from the kids perspectives but also the parents and their thoughts. Not being able to fit it can be a big concern when starting in school.

This creates the effect of attention for the readers and makes the theme in the sequence stand out. 
3 of the panels do not have a border and they are all about them feeling like they do not fit in.

Therefore the manuscript of the characters seem more visible. As if the manuscript is the key to the understanding of the theme of the sequence. There is also a thinking bubble on the second last panel, of the father thinking. *At least Nadir will be able to blend in.* This shows that even though the father is trying to convince the children not to be scared, that he stills thinks about not fitting in. Just by having a thinking bubble in the sequence tells the readers a lot about the family and the parents daily thoughts about being a refugee.

This is shown when the family is having a conversation and afterwards a scene shown from the outside of the house. Aspect to aspect is also a useful transition in the sequence, and shows different perspectives in the house.

That makes the sequence more abstract and messy. This could have a connection to the world of living as a refugee. That nothing is in control and the whole perspective on the everyday life is looked at as messy.
