I have found many short films that will draw you in and have you on the edge of your seats!  In horror, film genre, I believe anyone can relate to the fear they have inside when they are watching horror films. The category I have posted range from serial killers, robot, supernatural beings, spirits, and so much more! The reason I wanted a horror theme for the short film festival is because horror because of COVID-19 occurring, I knew movie theaters would be closed. And a movie theater is the place to be at, to have a taste of horror. Since there haven't been horror films coming out, I wanted to share with you films that some have kept me up at night. During these tough times we have going on, I hope watching these films will satisfy your horror needs. Well now, here in my film festival, I want you all to inspire the fear you have, and enjoy your time at this festival.

This film is based on 6 friends hanging out one night, playing their usual game night. But as they are playing, they got themselves of a demonic spirit, and it’s up to them to stop it. I find this film as a perfect example for my audience to have fear because the physical movement is very little, delivering you the uttermost amount of scares. This film gives you a vision of what would happen if you were to play a scary board game with your friends. What is very interesting about the film, is that the tension comes down to the character’s actions. Whether or not they can save each other from this demonic spirit. This film is the type to enjoy a gory thriller because it’s all entertainment and fun to view. If you have seen films like ‘Don't Breathe’ or ‘The Quiet Place’, it is almost similar because of the chilling silence between  scenes.

Get ready because Sea Devil, will want you to pray it was a fiction film. Watching a horror movie based on the ocean is scary enough, I hope you like this next film! Sea Devil is about a Cuban father and his daughter helping a fisherman chores. I think this short film is very important to see because it deals with a common topic the world is still dealing with.  And that is immigration. The father and daughter are immigrants and the fisherman agrees if they help him with his fish work, they can enter the states. It's rare to see a horror film that has to do with immigration. Sea Devil really captures the hard work immigrants have to go through to become residents in the states. Besides the immigration issue, this film is very entertaining to watch because of the mysterious person who got dragged on the boat by the fisherman. And his secret will take a twist, you will be in fear!

Sometimes a foreign horror film is much scarier than an American horror. That is why I am including this 5 minute film. Directed by Alfonso Garcia, Boca del Leon deals with demonic rituals, possession, and family. All of those themes must have you in fear already! Here, the film has the same cinematography such as Paranormal Activity, Grave Encounters 2, and the Blair Witch project. I believe the way they captured this film, will have you scared down your spine. I have to say the story will keep you on the edge, because of the father's obsession of the dead, as his daughter tries to help him escape the supernatural phenomenon. This film will make you wonder if people in actual life have a serious obsession with the dead! Keep in mind, they based this film on real Vatican Exorcisms Manuel, and this film delivered it really well. The Crossing, has some elements that I find very interesting to see. For example, the main character is walking alone at night in a pretty big city. I think that is common fear you feel because anything could happen when you walk alone, and you just want to get to your destination safe and sound. As you watch this film, you feel anxiety for this lady because she seems lost and struggling to find a place to go. But something spine-chilling happens when she goes to the underground subway station. The way the film is shown, causes you to be frighten because it is not like the typical gory, demon-possessed film. There is not much to take from this film, other than the brilliant fast-paced Russian horror short film, will have you question what is the thing she saw on the subway station?

The creative director Rob McLellan delivers Abe, a terrifying, psychological that's satisfyingly for horror and robot fans! about a robot describing human lives as useless. But what is so thrilling about this film is the slow-burn insight you feel from the robot as he tells the girl he kidnapped a story. The way the film shows an emotional robot is something rare to see in a short horror film. Because he accepted the fact that he was programmed differently, Abe, tries to find ways for a human to love him back. The film focuses on visual aspects, the film crew did an excellent job making the robot seem so lifelike. You understand why the director wanted to have a robot in a horror film, because it shows how technology is advanced enough to have a robot deal with emotions. When in reality, it is common that robots might take over human lives.

Watch this, as it might spook you to cause FEAR! Behold The Noose, is a horror short film about a county sheriff inspecting a house that might be a lead to  the missing person case. But the sheriff got himself into the creepiest places ever. This film, is another aspect of fear, because it is about a haunted house filled with mean spirits.
The film is a bit slow-paced but it is definitely worth the ghastly wait! The similarity between the person "behind the noose", was obviously inspired by Leatherface. There is a reason why I hope my audience can sense fear while watching Behind The Noose, because they need to stay out of the woods in the dark. The style of this film, is using less dialogue to create the skin-crawling atmosphere when the police officer searches in the pitch black night.

The reason why is because this short film, does have interesting insights into a human's mind. Along with the amazing cinematography this film has captured, the excellent use of sound made Tell, give you a certain panic in your heart. The performance from the main actor, Todd Bruno certainly gives off Norman Bates vibes in his character. The way the film shows what an insane man sees will always be interesting for an audience to see because it had be on the edge of my seat. The great feeling of suspense is connected with the pace the film had. Another reason why I wanted this film to be asked questions, is because I find Tell, as an inspiration to young people who would want to be in the film industry. Although this short film was more than 30 minutes, it has the ability to make it a great horror feature film.

Teeth sinks into a dark, haunting animation about an old man mainly focusing on his teeth and how events in his life connects with each tooth he had lost. Now that he has gotten prosthetic dentures, he does all his effort to remain with them as perfect as they can be. But what he has at stake will be later in the film. I wanted this film to be number 7 because I think horror animation creates bigger fear than any person can handle. Using sound for the actual man's teeth/mouth creates a heavy impact of the film, because it relates to the old man's obsession's with his teeth.  In life, teeth is the most precious thing you take care of in your own way. Yet, Teeth, delivers such tension that is honestly gruesome to watch, I don't think anyone would want to see this horror animated into a live-action short film. Tell, is the perfect short film possible to reflect in real life. Tell, is about a man who wants to hide his sins he committed, but his guilt gets in his way. This movie deals with murder, and the major character Taylor's mind as he becomes a little insane after committing his sin. This horror film is character-driven without the use of humor, heavy action, special effects. Considering this film was made on a low budget, the director, Ryan Connolly shot the film in beautiful angles that made the scene more intensifying as the editing is spot on clean. The storytelling was captivating because the character's motive created heavy suspense as you watch you will be on the edge of your seat. Because I believe during this time, there is no horror movie coming out that will have you jump. So I posted many horror short films that show any range of horror that will cause fear in yourself. I wanted to get each category of horror I can find here some that might happen in actual life, or just plain crazy to believe if it would come true. I created this festival because I saw there aren't enough horror films being talked about in the media. And I enjoy scaring myself as I watch many horror films in my life. I decided we should appreciate more short films, and who will? You! While I admit, all short films were very entertain to get scared of. I have to choose my favorite one, and that is Tell! I might have repeated myself already, but I really enjoyed the acting and the sounds used for this film so much. It reminded me so much of the film, Psycho, how it captured a sinister It was a 10/10, definitely worth the  praise.
