Royal Dutch Shell: Company.
1) Customers of Royal Dutch Shell have received an Impact regarding the fact that on June 12 they failed an air pollution test which meant a Big disappointment to the customers and many of them decided to change company. Shell, although it was at the pinnacle of the Fortune Global 500 List they were starting to go down and decrease in many different aspects of the Company. However, they manage to mantain quite a good Number of their customers because of the future long term projects they presented, we can also Address this situation as act of trust form the people towards Shell. They just decided to Belice in the Company and wait and then see what happens. Some of this projects were "Penguins", in January 2018 Shell took the final investment decision to redevelop the Penguins oil and gas field in the UK North Sea. Also such as: Pennsylvania Petrochemicals Project, Complex
Prelude FLNG project and
The Vito project.

Moreover, In July of that same year, Shell lost control of its discoverer rig near the shore of Dutch Harbour, Alaska. People could not believe how could they let this happen. This accident gives the company a bad image to customers that buy their oil daily, giving them something to think of when buying the next gallon.

In August, drilling was delayed due to lack of certification. This possibly lead to a higher demand of fee to the customers. In September, an oil-containment dome was crashed during failed sea-trial tests. This raised concerns about the company’s ability to respond to a real crash. Given this failed test, customers may feel guilty when buying oil from Royal dutch Shell because of the problems they could possibly cause on the near future.

Bibliography:

https://www.greenpeace.org/usa/how-did-shell-lose-control-of-the-noble-discoverer-drill-rig/

https://www.academia.edu/21626978/Stakeholder_Relations_-_Royal_Dutch_Shell_in_the_Arctic

Shell is the largest oil, gas, and energy company compared to Total, Exxon, Chevron, and BP. It is extremely competitive and innovative because they out-think their competition & always change their strategy to be the best. Shell changed their name from "Shell Oil & Gas" to "Shell Energy" to set them aside from the competition which was a brilliant move. The top 10 competitors of Shell are Valero, BP, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, CITGO, ConocoPhillips, Total, Marathon Oil, LUKOIL and Devon Energy.

GREENPEACE
- Shell has made a drill in the Alaskan Arctic.
- Shell launch a cynical PR campaign to convince the world that the Arctic is safe for oil drilling. They tell us “Shell is Arctic ready.” But no oil company will ever be ready to drill safely in the Arctic. So across the world we spring into action. The Save the Arctic campaign is born.
- Greenpeace activists shut down 74 Shell petrol stations in Edinburg, London
- Shell admits it will not “recover” 90 percent of any oil it spills in the Arctic Ocean.
- Shell has abandoned its controversial drilling operations in the Alaskan Arctic in the face of mounting opposition in what jubilant environmentalists described as “an unmitigated defeat” for big oil.
- On September 28, Shell shock (and delight) the world by announcing they’re finally pulling out of the Alaskan Arctic. To top it all off The Guardian reports today that on top of rising costs – get this – “Shell has privately made clear it is taken aback by the public protests against the drilling which are threatening to seriously damage its reputation.”
- This helped Greenpeace as "We will continue fighting to keep Shell and all other oil companies out of the Arctic for good, and to demand a global sanctuary in this pristine and fragile region that will protect it from further destruction. "
- There is already more oil in the world than can be safely burnt. There is simply no sane argument for the huge risk of Arctic drilling. If governments won't act, it's up to people around the world to stand up to greedy oil companies and demand Arctic protection.

Back in 2013, media was very interested will the oil group Shell, as they were doing very well and the numbers they reached were of great value. In 2013, Shell’s main objective was to make profit, without taking too much into account pollution or climate policies. The company was in the best moment of its life, they were agreeing to multi-million dollar contracts and focusing on the future of the society. Although they had some errors and mistakes, for example the oil spill in Nigeria they were very popular.
Nowadays, Shell is pressured to satisfy with the necessary policies about climate, but still can’t accept the complete change. On the 2nd of April, Royal Dutch Shell reviewed its lobbying operations and decided to leave one key US lobby group because of a disagreement over climate policies. In the recent years, Shell has not done so well, losing a 2% profit in the first quarter of 2019, and the shareholders are not very happy about it.

“With the first year of our 2012-2015 growth targets completed, Shell is on track for plans we set out in early 2012, despite headwinds last year,” said Voser (chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell). “Shell is competitive and innovative.
Managers and Directors look for the commodity and good performance of their employees, in order to obtain high profits that satisfy the company’s shareholders. They have to identify the forward-looking statements that are expectations and assumptions of the company to make sure it continues to be successful. In 2013, Shell faced a difficult operating environment and therefore, their mayor priority was to sharpen financial and operational performance. The company will invest in new energy sources. They will keep a balance with the financial framework for the investment in new projects while giving a good return to shareholders.Managers have to identify the forward-looking statements that are expectations and assumptions of the company to make sure it continues to be successful.

The main interest of Shareholders of Shell is to focus on returns of investment. The success of the business is what they aspire to. If the company is profitable and successful, it will result in a good investment. The fact that in 2013 “Shell topped the Fortune Global 500 list, with revenues in excess of $467 billion” and has a total profit of $26.6 billion is something great for Shareholders, the excessive revenues and profit will result in higher dividends, more money in their pockets, resulting in a good investment. This individuals will try to make sure that they remain in this position. Despite Shell success, in 2013 the company was facing various issues regarding their pipelines and drillings. The shareholders would probably try to fix this problems in order to prevent the loss of revenue.

Neither the less, now in 2019, Shell is position in 5th position in the Fortune Global 500 of 2018. It is presented with a revenue of $311 billion and a profit of $12 billion. There is a decrease in profit and revenue from 2013. This change is due to the consciousness and awareness of climate emissions. The shareholders probably are not happy with the decrement in revenue, many are pressuring the company to diversify faster into more renewable sources. They do this because they know that if they don't diversify, they will continue losing revenue, resulting in lower dividends.

Furthermore, we can see a contrast between the share value of the company. In 2013 the value was approximately $36 per share, now in 2019 it is $31. Shareholder have the interest of achieving capital gain, by increasing the value of shares. The decrement of the value (14%) is something that does not benefit the shareholders, and goes against their aim. We can assume that they are not happy with the managing and results of the business, thus pressuring for change.
