I am lucky because I work right down the street, which makes me more knowledgeable about the population I work with.  The poverty rate here is around 22%, which is pretty high, especially for Montgomery County. I remember one counselor who really connected with me and made me realize my potential and that my thoughts and feelings truly mattered. This one person made such an impact on my life and this has inspired me to hopefully do the same for others.
