For teachers who teach the whole year group by themselves, they will also use samples of their work and present their decisions to the rest of the department.


]]> 2020-03-07 15:48:03 UTC https://padlet.com/ibchrisstephens/a1nqqyfoog2v/wish/456250878 LBMS Assessment Policy https://padlet.com/ibchrisstephens/a1nqqyfoog2v/wish/456250898 The school has standardized MYP assessment utilizing horizontal (across the grade) and vertical (up and down the grades) alignment.  At Long Beach Middle School, we have structured the school day to allow teachers to meet to standardize assessment.  Teachers in the same subject group and grade level meet once a week to discuss and evaluate curriculum including assessment.  Additionally, interdisciplinary teams meet multiple times a week.  Some of this time is devoted to standardizing assessment on the grade level.  Our school has also built in time once a month for all teachers in the same subject group, but in all three years of the MYP, to reflect on their curriculum and assessment.  One of the assessment goals is to ensure standardization.
