The text uses more complex language as if the audience knows some things about exercise. For example VO2 Max and Acetylcholine are terms that may confuse a broader audience. The audience is people who are convincing people to exercise (like personal trainers and physicians). This becomes apparent in the language the author uses. This audience is targeted because they can educate people on the importance of exercise in simpler terms. The second audience may be people who have not incorporated exercise into their routine. The article uses the benefits of exercise on the mental and physical wellbeing of a person to show how exercise can be a positive impact on someone's life.

The author does not have bias because they include a counter argument near the beginning of their argument on the negative effects of exercise such as the fact that endurance athletes are more prone to respiratory diseases and body image issues. (Mikkelson, 2)This helps establish a better argument that the benefits may outweigh the consequences of exercise.
